Thread: Thomas Massie may delay the bailout... Congress livid with him

  1. #121
    The vote just went down...

Thomas called for a roll call, the Speaker Pro Tem asked everyone wanting a roll call to rise. Without even looking up (reading from his script) he says there are not enough members requesting a roll call.

So Thomas demand a quorum count. Again, without even looking up, and reading from the script, the Speaker Pro Tem says there is indeed a quorum.

The bill passes on a voice vote.

My argument implies nothing of the kind. And you trying to call me a liberal is mind-bendingly ridiculous. That is a propaganda technique that was used extensively against Ron Paul in 2008 and 2012.

The fact is that there is a lot more than just pork barrel spending in this thing. There are Pelosi agenda items that will completely transform this nation towards a socialist paradigm. When VoterID is banned nationwide, same day registration is required, and ballot harvesting is permitted, we will end up with Democrat supermajorities in both chambers and as President and it will be these Republicans and fearmongers that did it.

GET THEM ON THE RECORD, and six month from now when everyone starts discovering the pure Marxist communist crap that was passed into law in this thing and start scrambling to undo it before their terms are up Massie will look like the hero he is, and some of these idiots will get fired.

This coronavirus is as virulent as the common cold and as deadly as the common flu. There is nothing about it to justify this insane response. This whole thing is the Media gone batshyt crazy and we are going to literally destroy the American republic because of a basically normal seasonal bug?

My God man, if we are supposed to be willing to turn this country into the Soviet Union because of a bad seasonal cold, is there ANYTHING we are supposed to stand for at all?
Anyone that thinks people care about voting records anymore isn't paying attention or out of touch or both.

He is also getting tons of hate. What concerns me is that this will likely be a net negative for him. I hope that isn't the case. I hope the people of Kentucky stand by him.

When it comes to emotiional issues like this, taking a stand can get a person killed.

So basically, you have never been involved in a political campaign in your life?

Never mind how much of this post is just silly virtue signaling. What does any of it have to do with what Gunny said, or what you said to Gunny?

If you want to change the subject, change the subject. You don't need to quote me to do it.

Wasn't he chair of Romney's coronation convention?

They seem to know something we don't--like how much of that bill is out and out illegal.

Did it? Funny, I thought the Constitution demanded that appropriations originate in the House.

I guess we're beginning to see just how many laws Congress just violated.

Thomas just mentioned his primary opponent called for a miltary coup against Trump. Rush sub was very supportive throughout and said they might have Thomas back.

Any chance there wasn't really a quorum?

Isn't it amazing that Pelosi can't even show up to act as Speaker during this time?

I'm not sure the bill called for any new taxes. Just spending...

Sure. No proof there was, though Massie gave them a chance to prove it.

I'm sure they didn't spend six trillion without addressing how it was to be borrowed and/or printed.

She was there but didn't want to have the gavel for some reason. She spoke forever before the final vote waiting on members to fill the chamber.

Who knows? The cameras didn't have a wide enough angle to show (on purpose).

I don't know House rules but a quorum count would have been better where they actually require everyone to check in. But that doesn't appear to be what they did. If you watch the video the guy just reads from the script that there is indeed a quorum.

Pelosi is already talking about ANOTHER one!

Once the money has been spent there will be pressure to continue the benefits.

    It never ends.

Yes. Massie is hated by both parties but still stands. He is very much like Ron. A man of integrity that we can support.

You are projecting. Are you saying you can take on the medical industrial complex and win? You willing to let it go full socialization or let china buy the rest of it up? I don't like the idea of bailing out the medical industrial complex but also don't want to see the possible consequences of a government entity buying or taking ownership of it. For one they have more lobbyists and the will of the people who want socialization of medicine. Those gangsters outgun us 100:1
