When you have to look sad because you lost the nomination but then you remember you're getting a new summer home...

    Bernie’s 3rd House
    https://www.lewrockwell.com/politica...ies-3rd-house/

    Writes Greg Priverre:

    Lew,

I have seen several posts about Bernie’s new 3rd home. I noticed this statement at the end of one of the main stream articles:

The residence in Burlington is currently valued at $321,900, according to city property records.

This statement seems to have gone unnoticed even in the comments after the article. The statement is somewhat vague and wasn’t explained. I am not familiar with the tax system in VT but in most states the property tax would be based on the value “according to city property records”, as in, the assessed value for tax purposes. If this is the case then it appears Bernie will be paying taxes based on a 322K value on a house for which he paid 600K. if this is true shouldn’t a good socialist be agitating for this to be corrected so he can pay his “fair share”?
Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Pssshhhtt! Of course not - "fair sharing" is for the proles, not members of the Inner Party ...

Just playing devil's advocate for a moment, but a President Sanders would need his remote Hawaii spot/Crawford ranch type place for his down time. It's remote, on an island, very small population in home state...

"We have set them on the hobby-horse of an idea about the absorption of individuality by the symbolic unit of COLLECTIVISM. They have never yet and they never will have the sense to reflect that this hobby-horse is a manifest violation of the most important law of nature, which has established from the very creation of the world one unit unlike another and precisely for the purpose of instituting individuality."- A Quote From Some Old Book

A socialist like Bernie should rent an apartment in Chicago's projects and vacation amongst the people he claims to represent. And also donate the 600 grand saved to the IRS (I would say donate it to charity but Bernie doesn't like charity).

Bite your tongue! Bernie Sanders would never buy an American sports car! It's a German sports car!
