The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted a new guide Wednesday answering common questions about the risks the novel coronavirus pandemic poses to Americans traveling domestically.
“CDC does not generally issue advisories or restrictions for travel within the United States,” the agency said on its website. “However, cases of COVID-19 have been reported in many states, and some areas are experiencing community spread of the disease.”

The outbreak in California has probably been tempered by the weather. It has been spring here since January. Warm and no rain. It’s likely that the virus is seasonal like the flu, and transmits much better in cold, dry environments (winter). If it was actually winter in California, there would probably be a lot more cases.

A lot of people who get it are asymptomatic or have extremely mild symptoms, not even as bad as a cold.

Stats are funny that way. No matter what you are talking about, the stats are usually just a sample, and not a full count. Especially with diseases. The counts never include all effected, not by a long shot. Way too many people catch things, but it never gets tested or reported.

Understood. My point is that mortality rate is from China, which doesn't have the same level of medical care as we do. Furthermore, the number of people contracting the virus is far more than are being diagnosed with it. Flu like symptoms during flu season? How many people are getting medical attention for that? I won't be surprised if we see less that a 0.1% mortality rate over here when we include the likely number of undiagnosed people.

Today they just closed my kids school down for two weeks. This level of panick isn't justifiable, based off what we know. There haven't been measures taken like this nation wide ever... Makes me wonder what is really going on. Hopefully it is just government stupidity.
