I wouldn't protest this. I'd let the dems make fools of themselves (again) with another witch hunt, and then ask if people are ready to stop believing the news. (they won't be, but I doubt a protest would convince them otherwise anyway, protests are really only good for letting you know that you aren't alone (which is nice in itself, don't get me wrong), but it's pretty rare that they cause any real changes)

You know what, I take it back. I don't agree with the premise that they want people to 'sit down and shut up'. I think they want to spark something so they can 'put the rabid dog down.' They need a Reichstag fire.
They are not mutually exclusive. Either you sit down and shut up, or they will be happy to make an example out of you and grab more power at the same time. Their threats are not hollow. They have no problem throwing you in a hellhole for years with no charges and no due process. You are guilty of thoughtcrime, of ungood think, and there is no defense for such a crime.

Do remember that DC is sovereign from the 50 states and is essentially under martial law and has been since Reconstruction (Act of 1871), so Constitutional protections that apply in the 50 states via state constitutions and the 1789 Bill of Rights do not apply in DC (fringed flag, admiralty/pirate military flag, conquer, pillage, plunder). This is the legal and historical basis that explains how they have treated the J6 folks. War criminal treatment essentially, since DC is under martial law. Something going down in New York wouldn't be nearly as easy to "lock them up and throw away the key" as it is in DC.

In] fact, there is good reason for them to increase their support of DeSantis if he blocks or denies any kind of extradition or arrest of "Donald J. Trump" "a former Republican president being hounded by a blatantly bogus and politically-motivated prosecution". If you actually believe otherwise, then you must have a pretty low opinion of DeSantis supporters. (Hell, I don't like either Trump or DeSantis, but DeSantis would get a big thumbs-up from me if he did such a thing.)

    FTA:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took aim at the Manhattan district attorney Monday over his expected prosecution of a hush money case against former President Donald Trump.

The Republican governor slammed DA Alvin Bragg as a “Soros-funded prosecutor,” referring to Democratic campaign backer George Soros, but offered little in defense of Trump, who is currently the front-runner in the Republican presidential primary field. DeSantis is widely expected to be gearing up for his own bid to be the party’s nominee in 2024.

“I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair. I just, I can’t, speak to that,” DeSantis said at a news conference, prompting laughter from the audience.

“But what I can speak to is if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to try to use something about porn star hush money payments, that’s an example of pursuing a political agenda,” he said.

    [...]

Bragg and others like him “weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety,” DeSantis said.

I don't expect anything from any politicians (especially not the ones who "play safe").

    That way, I'm never disappointed.
    FTA:

The governor added he has “no interest in getting involved in some manufactured circus by some Soros DA.”

Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., lashed out at the governor over that comment.

“So DeSantis thinks that Dems weaponizing the law to indict President Trump is a ‘manufactured circus’ & isn’t a ‘real issue,’” Trump Jr. tweeted. “Pure weakness. Now we know why he was silent all weekend.”

It's hilarious seeing how deeply affected some people are by TDS. It's been almost three years since he was POTUS and, according to the peanut-gallery, he has 0% CHANCE of ever being POTUS again. So what is there to talk about? Somebody whispers the name "Trump" and hordes of TDS-deranged zombies come crawling out of the woodwork from every direction, it's like the Internet has become a daylight horror-movie...

From the NY charges, they aren't major. He would likely end up with a fine or at worst probabation. Clinton just paid a fine to settle a similar case. Some of the other pending GA and federal cases are the ones that could get him real time.

    Similar.. LOL

I guess using campaign funds to pay for fake intel from a foreign spy to get your political opponent who ends up becoming President wrapped up in years of unnecessary litigation is pretty similar to using campaign funds to pay a prostitute who is blackmailing you over an alleged allegation of sexual impropriety. In some universe.

strong response from Rand, good to see from him. So disgusting what the democrats get away with with no charges.

Porn start, not prostitute. Regardless, both are campign finace violations, not the crime of the century. I think Trump is guilty as hell, but doesn't need to be imprisoned for it. The other pending charges are another story.

    Ari Hoffman (23 March 2023)

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent letters Wednesday to former special prosecutors Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz demanding documents and testimony relating to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority” amid the reported impending indictment of former President Donald Trump.

Dunne and Pomerantz both resigned from their positions in the DA’s Office in January 2022 after Bragg’s initial reluctance to move forward with charges against President Trump.

Since leaving the DA’s office, Dunne and Pomerantz have publicly criticized Bragg for refusing to aggressively prosecute the former president and now have even opened a law firm to bring lawsuits to prevent Trump from holding future office.
House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote in the letters "Your criticisms of Bragg's investigation were widely reported. It now appears that your efforts to shame Bragg have worked as he is reportedly resurrecting a so-called 'zombie' case."

The letters asked Pomerantz and Dunne to turn over documents related to the Trump investigation, including communications with federal agencies and other staffers in the DA's office and sit for transcribed interviews by the morning of March 27.

On Monday, Jordan, Reps. Jim Comer (R-KY) and Bryan Steil (R-WI), the chairs of the Oversight and House Administration Committees sent a letter to Bragg requesting his testimony and documents which included the communications of Pomerantz and Dunne.

Jordan wrote, "In January 2022, soon after you took office, you expressed doubts about President Trump’s case and suspended the investigation.”

News broke Wednesday that the grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump for his alleged involvement in a $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels on the eve of the 2016 election was told not to show up and would reconvene on Thursday amid reports that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is "having trouble" convincing members of the grand jury to hear the case.
