    Weird $#@! I run across...

I'm starting this thread for Puddles the Sad Clown. I left the title open because others might wish to contribute other weird things.

    Puddles is...amazing. Can't believe I hadn't heard of him.

Here's his amalgam of Folsom Prison Blues and Pinball Wizard.

He has a lot of others. Check him out. Weird $#@!. Love it.

I'd like to see him live. His background film footage works well. He's got his act well timed.

    My take on the video.

I thought it was OK, it was just guy in a really kickas* clown makeup singing a song, playing instruments and performing. The voice, the sound were good but my problem is that the lyrics to the song wasn't particularly interesting. There is really no coherent story being told or topic being talked about, no memorable chorus, no clever lines or anything outstanding about the song.

    O.K. YMMV.

But, I, too, like the kickas* clown make up. Understated and well done IMHO. Here is a video which includes him putting the "face" together...

Pretty cool. And also agitators post gives reference to the two songs that where brought together.

You've seriously never heard of Pinball Wizard by The Who?

Yea, I don't think it helped that I did not know half of the source material for the performance. But I really enjoyed his rendition of "Hallelujah".

Unless the song played in the background while you played pinball, I still wouldn't have heard about the song growing up in my continent of Africa. Beside people didn't play pinball when I was growing up, they played arcade video games. Pinball machines is something you see in antique stores with a sign that reads "Do not touch"

He's kinda different clown. He doesn't seem creepy to me. He's a "sad clown." Coulrophobia is kind of limiting. If you should ever choose to move beyond your fears and he is playing in Atlanta let me know. Beth and I would come down and crash at my sister/BIL for his show. We could meet at Mr. A's bar.

Get a good set of headphones and give this a listen.

Or better yet, get a quadraphonic system and give it a listen.

Edit, I didn't notice it but you have to go to you tube when you click on the video to get the whole thing. 4 albums worth.

Wow. Seriously. Not knowing "Pinball Wizard" by The Who is something akin to having never heard of "Happy Birthday." I'm a little bit in shock. And doubly so, because it's one of the more intense and cohesive "story songs" of the last 50 years. The narrative is precise and descriptive, and narrates a fully fledged story.

    Here, acquire yourself some culture....

Did you listen to this song? I think Lil Boom wants to literally $#@! clowns. I don't. Not into clowns.

    @ :20 Five, six...hit 'em with dicks o_O

I quit listening after that. Just what I need is to get clown porn in my ads.

The Who is OK, but they'll never match up to modern classics like Call Me Maybe
