Nice. I used to like the dipped cones with nuts. My dad used tell me he was going to treat me like a Queen when we went.

Ordered Chinese food last night and realized it's becoming a luxury. Whatever happened to cheap takeout?

Just made peach/habanero/garlic BBQ sauce for shrimp-n-chicken on the grill...

    3-peaches pitted
    3-habaneros
    3-cloves of garlic

blend with a bit of lime juice, a splash of vinegar, salt and white sugar.

put in a pan on the stove and reduce until thick enough to use....

I'm still dipping my finger in it..

Homemade veggie burgers tonight. They turned out really good. We didn't make anything with it but I got full on just one of these.

That sounds really good. I can almost taste it just reading about it. Maybe only about a half of a hab for me, though.

I just had pot luck last night. I gathered all of my leftovers and put em in a pot. So it turned into vegetable stew. It was pretty good for pot luck, though.

It was disgusting. Mr A ate sausage off a Chinese buffet, ffs. WTF? Is he trying to get food poisoning. Anyway, I was finished eating at least 30 minutes when they finally decided to get dessert. So I'm sitting there and my son has a gigantic bowl of ice cream in front of him and he's just talking. Not eating. I was so done, I told him to shut up and eat. I had to get the hell out of there. On the way home, they trolled me. They kept suggesting places to stop for dessert because I rushed them out. We were there a damn hour. If you can't get filled up and have time for dessert, you have an eating disorder that needs addressing.

BTW, I just heard my oldest son rummaging in the kitchen for a snack. o_O
Those Asian buffets are bangin. I tear that sushi up, too. Same thing, 12 bucks a dolt. And they have some kind of really, really, good apple pie.

Hah. Thanks, yeah, they were tasty. My roommate and I both cooked dinner last night and she's not vegan but she liked them. In other news, after living here for a few weeks and watching a couple documentaries with me, she's pretty much on her way to being a vegana, haha. (But other than watching the docs, I haven't done anything... she said that she wants to phase meat out of her diet.)

The mixture I used for this one had black beans in it… But I'm going to be trying different veggie burger recipes (like with lentils, mushrooms, etc.) so when I find another good one I'll let you know.

My sons took me out to eat tonight. They've been trying to get me to go to a place they recently tried called Cook Out. They ordered for me and got me a double burger, a bacon wrap, chicken nuggets, and a milkshake. WTF? That's an odd combo but they wanted me to try different things. It's a platter deal and apparently, you choose a bunch of entrees for 6.00. The bacon wrap was the the best. I ate all of that and took a bite of the burger. I don't eat chickens nuggets. I also tried one of my son's fries. No salt. WTH, is up with places serving fries without salt? There wasn't even a shaker on the table.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't good, either. I can understand why cheap teenage boys like it, though.

Salmon and sweet kale salad. I've been buying wild salmon in the freezer section at Sam's Club and it's really good. I like that it comes in individual portions because I eat dinner alone a lot and I don't have to worry about wasting any.

Chicken wings. My next door neighbor's wife is out of town and he stopped by and invited himself over for dinner, drinks, and a swim tonight. I hope he wears a swim shirt. He's a nice fella but he's really into body building and shaves his legs, chest, and back. I'm not sure how that helps with body building. Unfortunately, he doesn't keep up with his shaving and always seems to have a 5 o'clock shadow on his body. It's hard for me not to stare. A five o'clock shadow on a man's face is rather sexy but on his chest and legs, it screams lazy gay to me.

Several folks (myself, included) have complimented your food photos. Check this out...

Justin Schuble is only 22, but he has been called "one of the most powerful new players" in the Washington DC food scene.
Schuble shares how his Instagram account evolved into a full-time career, with restaurants begging him to showcase their dishes.

Big money in food porn. I think I mentioned to you earlier in this thread that food photographers make bank and you seem to have a talent for it. It's NOT easy to take good photographs of food.
