Yeah, I always get a laugh when I read those park signs. That's one reason I hate big cities. You can't really blame the city though, most of those rules are driven by lawsuits.

That isn't a government regulation. A government regulation would be banning all grilling on wood balconies, except for the brands of grills that meet government safety standards (pay the bribe). Which then leads the ever informed public to believe that grilling on wood balconies is safe as long as they have a government approved grill. I think it would work out well. Let's do it.

Because the BBQ case is closed. It is dangerous to have people grilling wherever they want to. It would be like turning wild animals loose to run through the city streets. I'm thankful the public servants were able to keep the situation from getting out of hand.

I doubt there are any stats anywhere, but it would have to be white people. Most black people I know never trusted police, even long before the whole media frenzy the last few years.

Thank the Gods, I don't have to worry about rogue BBQ's in muh park. I feel safer.

Reminds me of people who say people should be imprisoned for breaking other nonviolent rules, like smoking a joint. Just exactly when did you trade your shoes in for jackboots?
I never said they should have called the police, I'm just saying that the media is insane and they are clearly pushing these stories to race bait..

There may be any number of authoritarian "isms" at work in her mind, but racism is most likely not one of them.

She would have called cops on white folks just as quick, perhaps even more quickly, because only a fool would assume there would be no cries of racism following such an encounter with black folks in today's climate.
Ya this is it exactly.. I would never call the cops or any type of authority on someone for, say, bbqing in the park, regardless of whether it was against the rules or not.

And it turned out the lady who called the cops on the people bbqing was a leftist climate change activist, clearly NOT a racist as the media was portraying her.
