I already know what you will say, you will just say he is the president so he can declassify and therefore say whatever he wants.

I mean everything from "Classified" to Special Access Programs.

Trump was only a candidate on July 5, 2016 . . . got a gripe about Trump use of classified info on .gov servers (?)
then jus' go to a thread more relevant to your topic of current interest.

In Comey's defense -LOL - is it a "lie" to call the President a "senior WH official" ?

The deep state was already embedded into his campaign by then. They have been cooking this Russian election interference narrative for years. Rand Paul even joked and said that Hillary Clinton could run on the Republican ticket if she wanted to- she is a neocon. So we had to vote for Trump to vote against the neocons... well, who is Trump appointing to his cabinet? We had to vote against Hillary because she was going to go to war against Iran with the Gulf states, they said. So yeah go ahead and de-rail your own topic. You want to convince us that the Russians hacked our government's top secret emails, that's also what the deep state wants to convince us. I still think the government hacked your brains.

Nikcers is correct. No learning curve. Trump did not tighten his own security
after decrying her sloppiness. Yes, once again, Comey does a flipflop that is
a 180 degree reversal of his previous public stance. If he was wrong in his first
real public statement on the matter, why wait until after Labor Day to blurt out
a new epiphany? I honestly think Trump is going to face an impeachment trial
and that James Comey has the body language of a guy who is basically honest
but confused. He bollixes things up even worse when he tried to be corrective.
She was expecting a slap on the wrist, and that's what she got two years ago.
The terribly confusing October Surprise reversal looks more like somebody got
to him. Being FBI Director under Trump is a thankless task. War of words, yes.

He didn't have to. He's not using a private server.

How do you know this? You believe what he says? DJT has lied to us. Keep this in mind.

Pardon me for splitting metaphoric hairs, but what you stated is simply your opinion.
More correctly, YOU ASSUME he never uses a private nongovernmental server at all.

I don't think he's that stupid and why would he do that? He's playing by the book. The most dangerous man in the world.

I guess you've never met a man who doesn't lie.

a passage from Comey’s book: "I had assumed from media polling that Hillary Clinton was going to win. I have asked myself many times since if I was influenced by that assumption. I don’t know. Certainly not consciously but I would be a fool to say it couldn’t have had an impact on me."

Look at him lick his lips so he can focus on selling that line that that they could not reconstruct the data forensically (they had all of the data). The whole idea was to undercut and sell the idea that the United States is stupid when it comes to cyber, that we have limited capabilities. It goes completely contrary to the leaks we get from people like Snowden and Assange.

In terms of tightening up security, if one contrasts FDR with IKE,
we were ten times worse at the Art of being a police state in the 1950s
than we were in the early 1940s, if you look at the way we guarded
government secrets. Likewise by comparison to the height of the Cold War,
Bill Clinton was extremely relaxed, he almost was as casual as FDR was
when surrounded by his cronies and political honchos. The arrival of the
Internet in addition to many technological innovations are a nightmarish
situation. Gigabyte thumbnail hard drives have old strips of microfilm
looking quaint.Should I assume because Hillary C is a Democrat that
loose lips sink ships, but the GOP label has DJT being as tight lipped as IKE
in all benign blandness? I thought that Trump had a learning curve but for
good or ill he did not really hire back all the anal retentive control freaks
around Dick Cheney. Trump's crew seemed to be very new. Like Carter's.
