Thread: Rand Paul: Trump should use lie-detector tests to find anonymous op-ed author

Oh Rand, how you're wasting whatever political capital the liberty movement still has..

    Anyone can lick idiot-boots.

It is not a sound strategy for libertarians to lick them with special vigor.

He votes against Trump more than any Republican in the House or Senate yet because he kisses Trump's ass, he is having real influence with Trump. I am big on actually living in a freer society and if kissing ass is what it takes then good for Rand.

Those votes don't have any appreciable effect on policy, and the people don't watch votes.

What the people see is the liberty movement endorsing Trump, and his big government nationalist agenda.

    We have no leverage whatsoever.

yet because he kisses Trump's ass, he is having real influence with Trump
That must be why spending has increased dramatically.

...and why the ACA wasn't repealed.

...and why the Iran treaty was voided.

I am big on actually living in a freer society...
    Hence my point

What the New York Times is doing with the piece is essentially confirming there is a rogue, unaccountable deep state and that it is still attempting to orchestrate a coup against the American electorate.

    How ironic.

The funny part is that the people who want to cite this as evidence of a "deep state" can't do it without acknowledging that the author of the article is actually a top administration official, (otherwise, he's not in a position to do anything and doesn't qualify as "deep state") and is therefore in a position to know how Retard behaves. Another way of thinking about it is that both parties are absolutely worthless garbage, President on down, Pelosi on up.

If the author is really a top official who is part of a plot against DJTvsg why would you believe anything negative he had to say about the President?

The author is either a top level person, who can affect policy, "deep state" - or not.

If not, no deep state conspiracy.

If so, this is all quite credible.

    ...can't have it both ways.

It might not prove that there is one but it hardly disproves it and there is plenty of other evidence.

It is not credible if it is coming from a source intent on triggering a 25th Amendment coup, that is true whether the NYT has a real high level source or not.

The fact that the NYT piece is alleging there is a deep state orchestrating a coup, does not mean it is logical to conclude that all the character denunciations (purportedly relayed from the anonymous go between from the anonymous source) are necessarily true. In fact it would tend to suggest exactly the opposite - that these character attacks made in support of the coup lack credibility and cannot be trusted to be accurate. They could possibly be true, but the admission of a deep state coup is not reason to trust them but to doubt them.

An anonymous source openly admitting to willingly participating in deception, treachery, betrayal and a coup to overthrow the American electorate is not someone that is trustworthy, honest or unbiased. That the source states he is doing this for the stated reason the source wants to escalate conflict with Russia faster than President already has no less, suggests the source is delusional and psychotic.

You don't know who the source is.

What we do know is that Retard's public statements and behavior correspond entirely with the behavior described in the article.

It's not even really news: just more, and more graphic, detail.

    Q. Trump's speech on twitter and other idiot-platforms is deplorably extensive. If he's a victim of a coup, why not say something?

Is he too stupid to fire people who oppose him?

...does he perhaps like and agree with everyone who pretends to like and agree with him, because he is an idiot?

You are the one who claimed to disprove something, you can't claim it is evidence there is no deepstate conspiracy if the NYT wrote it, the only thing it proves is that the NYT wants a 25th Amendment coup.
There are many things you could use as evidence that Trump is not fighting the deepstate but this isn't one.

Can he afford to fire everyone and lose the support of their allies? He had to make deals to get into the White House and he isn't in a position to break all of them yet.

Why does R3 think these questions mean that goofy gossip style insults -made by an anonymous source whose stated goal is to escalate conflict with Russia and admits to willingly participating in deception, treachery, betrayal and attempting coup to overthrow the will of the American electorate- must be honest, unbiased, trustworthy, and credible?
I get that R3 personally believes Trump is an idiot and therefore desires the anonymous character insults to be true, but that is not any reason to trust the source. It is irrational and illogical and idiotic to impulsively impute honesty and credibility to the admittedly dishonest, deceitful, biased and treacherous anonymous source.

Once again, the point is that it is incoherent to claim that someone in the "deep state" (i.e. some top level person able to affect policy) wrote this, and yet deny that the author would be in a position to have spent significant time with Retard such as to know what he, the author, is talking about. On the other hand, it makes absolutely no difference to his supporters what Retard does or says, so long as he blames all problems on foreigners. So, there's that.

It is just as illogical to believe that the kind of lying scumbag enemy the author would have to be in order to be real would tell the truth about Trump, what is logical is that he would say as many horrible lies as he thought it would take to get Trump thrown out, you can't say that his statements are true or untrue based on what we know about him if he is real.

There is no need to speculate about Trump's nature.

He obviously is an erratic, degenerate moron: utterly ignorant of economics, history, and political philosophy.

The recent stories are only color on a well known story.

DANIEL ELLSBERG and MARK FELT helped to trunctuate RICHARD NIXON's presidency but their
reasons were totally different. The Watergate Scandal is the next zoo of a circus that arrives as
the public looks at papers about Southeast Asia that date from 1955 onwards, that IKE, JFK and
LBJ had not told the American people about. Had RMN not been in charge of the nation the day
that IKE went into surgery for a bad heart, if RMN did not have the security clearances he did, he
might have been forgiving. He began to obsess about what Larry O'Brien knew. The guy who ran
JFK's primary campaign in West Virginia, that totally smucked Hubert H. Humphrey's POTUS quest
is also the guy who helped win ILLINOIS for Jack that fall. Again, the tippitytopSECRET ancient files
Cold War era MIGHT have been shared with this guy who is a reform minded machine politician old
school and totally Irish. Go figure. Larry O'Brien knew things. NIXON made a decision that involved
G.Gordon Liddy. The rest is now history. This is the backdrop that is DEEP THROAT era. Trust me!!!

Is d.Trump actually worse than A.johnson, H.hoover, R.M.Nixon and bILLclinton all rolled up into one person?
Let's don't forget the nukes under our C-I-C and what a spilled coffee cup does to electronics. Is DJT worse
than the idiot who clearly wants his job, who he MIGHT have even hired prior to DJT saying publically that he
wants to be our POTUS? What if this guy is not a lady, and is even MORE incompetent than DJT? Exactly who
is the MOLE and where do they get their pocket money? The NY Times is treating this like a muckraker voyage
down memory lane, but the bright journalists who won their Spurs at the height of the DEEP THROAT watergate
scandal are now almost debating nursing homes. That generation of journalists are not young. Today's Cubs in
the reporting business are addicted to SEARCH engines, not SHOE LEATHER. They never run down stories, as
in literally RUNNING when getting to where they must be. Their rules today are not those of yesteryear, sadly.
