    Trump Blasts Huntsman, Paul, Rove

Trump said that Ron Paul, who is not attending the Trump debate, has “zero chance” of becoming the GOP nominee. “I wonder how he would do in the private sector. He probably wouldn’t have made ten cents,” Trump remarked.

In response to Karl Rove’s criticism on Fox this morning that Trump, who is considering an independent presidential run, shouldn’t be moderating a GOP debate, Trump blasted Rove as responsible for the GOP’s woes in recent years.

“I don’t think that Karl Rove is a smart person. I think he’s highly overrated. … He’s a man who’s only after Karl Rove,” Trump said, adding that Rove was “part of the problem with the Republican party.”

“He did such a bad job with Bush in that final period of time that no Republican could possibly have beaten Obama or any other Democrat and I say that Karl Rove was at least partially responsible,” Trump continued. “He’s totally into himself. He’s already got his little candidate picked out. …I understand Karl Rove. I get Karl Rove. I think Karl Rove is basically a loser. Other than that, I like him very much.”

Rove got GW Bush elected. Twice.

Whatever you think of his politics, he is extremely capable at what he does. His standing is so high as a political operator that he could care less what Trump thinks, and doesn't play any games in waltzing around the issue.

He's such a vile person, it's almost incomprehensible.

Trump actually thinks that running a country is like running a business. He actually thinks that voters want a leader who has spent his life pursing the dollar. That the hunt and chase for money is the perfect qualification and preparation for fulfilling the duties of the highest office in the land.

Why would anyone want to elect a President who, after having achieved a comfortable life for his family, says, "Oh, but that's not enough. I've got to make more, MORE! "I went right on biggering ... selling more Thneeds. And I biggered my money, which everyone needs.” While mogul businessmen were BIGGERING, some of the other candidates were using their free time to study government, philosophy, economics; they were keeping their relationships strong enough to weather storms.

When did we start to think that being a businessman was the best CV for President? I didn't get it when Cain shoved "businessman" on the electoral pedestal. And I don't get it when Trump does.

Trump you damn well know what Ron Paul used to do in the private sector and it was by far more private than any business you ever engaged in.

Your just jealous that Ron Paul has satisfied thousands of women and never had a single complaint and still kept the love and respect of his wife and family.

Why don't you and your buddies Newt and Herman try keeping your pants on for a change, maybe you would have a better reputation for it.
Ron Paul: He irritates more idiots in fewer words than any American politician ever.

If Trump has his way, then Newt would get into office and would go down as being an even bigger disaster than Bush could ever be. I guess Trump missed the article about Dr. Paul's savvy investing where his worst stock only returned 300% over 10 years or so. Yeah, Ron Paul would do horrible in the private sector

Keep your wagon hitched to Newt as he takes you over a cliff Trump.

By any objective standard the portfolio would make any financial superstar green with jealousy. Fueled by his understanding of the inflationary policies unrelentingly pushed by his colleagues in Washington, Ron wisely loaded up on gold and gold mining stocks in the mid to late 1990s when those assets were regarded as the poor stepchildren of Wall Street. Although these assets have significantly beaten the broad markets over the one and three year time frames used in the article, most of their phenomenal gains occurred earlier in the last decade. McTague, however, completely neglects to mention this despite his noting that Ron Paul favored a "buy and hold" strategy that surely gave him exposure to those fat years.

Amazingly, the average 10 year return of the 8 stocks listed in his top 10 holdings (that have 10 year track records - the two other positions have not been around that long) came in at more than 600%! During that time frame the S&P 500 was down 3%. Is there any stock mutual fund that can even touch that performance over a decade? Not likely.

If Barron's chooses to label this strategy as "stopped clock" investing, so be it. But a more honest assessment would simply call it "successful" investing

Just said on MSNBC that now Bachman, Perry, and Romney were undecided on whether or not they were going to the debate. Only Santorum and Gingrich have confirmed. I thought that Bachman had confirmed, but apparently that's not correct. I think as more time goes by, the less likely it is that they will attend.

The big Trump GOP debate to become: "The Gingrich-Santorum Lincoln-Douglas-style Debate Hosted by Trump"?

Wow, intriguing. The longer they delay, the less likely they are to be the "chosen one" of Donald Trump. They have to realize this, so it sounds like a "no" from all of them at this point.

Okay, here's another thought. Would they continue to have the debate if it were only Gingrich and Santorum? Newt would say yes because he wants Trump's support, and Trump won't want to back down and admit it was a failure. Could he still get TV coverage?

Interesting little drama that in the end might backfire on Newt. Trump might really make a fool of himself here.

Being Trump's "chosen one" may be the beginning of the end for Newt. The fact that Trump is threatening a third party run if His Anointed One is not chosen shows that he is willing to hand the election to Obama if his NeoCon isn't picked. Let him and his choice go down in flames.
