Gov. Nikki Haley picked to become UN ambassador, sources say

(Just throwing it out there. Don't know if it's msm bs or not.)

COLUMBIA -- President-elect Donald Trump is picking South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley to become his U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, The Post and Courier has learned.

The move, expected Wednesday, continues the steep political rise of the daughter of Indian immigrants that started six years ago when the Bamberg native was elected as South Carolina’s first female and minority governor.

The planned nomination to the cabinet-level post, confirmed by multiple sources with knowledge of the decision, is likely to raise questions about Haley’s qualifications for a major foreign policy role since she has little diplomatic experience as state lawmaker and governor.

The 44-year-old’s chief foreign work centers on negotiating with international companies seeking economic development deals in the state and leading seven overseas trade missions as governor. Her husband, Michael, was deployed for nearly a year in Afghanistan with the S.C. National Guard in 2013.

Recent UN ambassadors typically have experience in presidential administrations, usually with the State Department or National Security Council. The post would be Haley’s first in the federal government.

The Trump administration is likely banking on Haley's strong communication and problem-solving skills in being the U.S. representative at the 193-member United Nations in New York.

The governor won praise for her calm handling of the racially-charged Charleston church shooting and historic flood that took place just less than four months apart last year. After the shooting, she persuaded lawmakers to remove the Confederate battle flag that had flown on the Statehouse grounds for more than 50 years.

Trump had to find a position for Haley, not because he likes Haley. It is more about helping out the guy who was the first major politician to endorse him. Giving Haley a job means that Henry McMaster will become governor of South Carolina.

Because Democrats and liberals love the UN and give them precedence over US policy.

Why else would a sitting Governor give up her position to be an ambassador?? Very shrewd move, but I wonder what else was promised to her....

President-Elect Donald J. Trump Intends to Nominate South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations

Governor Haley is one of the most universally respected governors in the country.
After working at her family’s business, Governor Haley turned her focus to economic development
and has traveled abroad to negotiate with international companies on behalf of South Carolina.
As governor, she has led seven overseas trade missions
and successfully attracted jobs and investment through negotiations with foreign companies.

“Governor Haley has a proven track record
of bringing people together regardless of background or party affiliation
to move critical policies forward for the betterment of her state and our country,”

“She is also a proven dealmaker, and we look to be making plenty of deals.
She will be a great leader representing us on the world stage.”

    =============

    My take?
She's probably better suited as an ambassador than a governor.
Better image for a 'New! Improved!' America...
    and
better for the people of S.Carolina.
Definitely on the WRONG side of the Confederate Flag fiasco..
and kind of a political hack when it came down to real issues.
Silent on Obama. Silent on Black Lives Matter bs...
1st gen American w/ a little too much 'multi-cultural' criticism
    serving the SJW agenda..
    and
a little too easily manipulated into the Globalist agenda
to shame "America First" citizenry re jobs/immigration/work visas.
    but..
I think she's malleable. It will work.

If she's a good 'deal maker' then fine...
she'll be nice to look at too
    but
    A N Y T H I N G
is better than having to endure angry globalist neocon LIARS
like Cass Sunstein's wife Samantha Powers
    for another 4 years...

    or
Hillary's intended pick..... Vicky 'Cookies' Nuland OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nikki Haley is a good choice.

    Henry McMaster

As a South Carolinian, I didn't think I could love Trump anymore than I already did...
Then he goes and ends Nikki Haley's time as our Governor. Now the badass Henry McMaster is our Governor. If Trey Gowdy or Tim Scott become our Lieutenant Governor, I don't think I would be able to handle all the winning.

I am in SC too, but Gowdy is our gift to all of America.

Now we need to get rid of Lindsay Graham

No doubt it was her support for legislation against businesses who partake in the boycott and divestment of Israeli products that won her the job. I read they are going to label the group as anti-Semitic and that there are plans for federal legislation against participating with the group. Can't find the article.

It appears there are similarities in their beliefs but not same religions.

On a side note, Obama was also 1st gen American born (although Trump did not confirm that early on) but he cancelled his trip to Sikh Temple for fear of looking muslim, whereas Nikki seems more secure about her heritage. Both politicians claim to be Christians in public.
