Las Vegas Shooting Investigation Closed. No Motive Found

Pretty remarkable that investigation into one of the biggest suspeced terror attacks on US soil (behind Pearl Harbor, 9/11, OKC) has been closed without finding of a motive:

Police investigating the October 2017 deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas said they've been able to answer the "who, what, when, where and how" of the massacre, but as the end of the probe was announced on Friday, officials still could not explain the "why."
"The goal of our investigation all along was to provide the public with the clearest picture possible of the events leading up to Oct. 1, as well as motive," Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told reporters at news conference. "What we have not been able to definitively answer is the 'Why Stephen Paddock committed this act?'" he said.
The public briefing coincided with the anticipated release of the 187-page report prepared by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Force Investigation Team. It is the culmination of a 10-month investigation of the shootings that left 58 people dead and hundreds more injured at an outdoor country music concert.
Lombardo confirmed that 64-year-old Paddock acted alone when he fired a hail of bullets out the window of his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort. The sheriff also quashed all rumors of conspiracies. "There's been no other gunman identified," he said, adding that the department does not anticipate charging any other individuals.
Lombardo described Paddock as "an unremarkable man" who many people — including one of his brothers — said had mental health issues.

On a side note, this finding should also negate old liberal media theories alleging that acts of violence were always attributed to 'mental illness' when suspect was not a person of color.

No motive because he wasn't the shooter.

He left the guns there, he didn't shoot them. He was selling them as an undercover agent. Things went sour, the terrorists shot up the concert and killed him then took off.

    I knew it was muslims.
It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

Makes more sense than "no motivation" after nearly a year of investigating.

Especially considering who else was staying in the hotel at the time.. and what was going on in the other Casinos.

Vegas. 3000 rooms. Likely at least a couple shady characters in at least one of them. He also rented a room overlooking another festival in Las Vegas and another in Chicago. Coincidence? https://abc7chicago.com/chicago-loll...ooter/3878519/

Or maybe he was just to cheap to buy concert tickets.

Not sure if a closed case was opened again but latest FBI investigation also finds "no motive":

FBI finds no specific motive in Vegas attack that killed 58

By KEN RITTER and MICHAEL BALSAMO January 29, 2019

FILE - In this Oct. 2, 2017 file photo, Eric Paddock holds a photo of himself, at left, and his brother, Stephen Paddock, at right, outside his home in Orlando, Fla. The FBI has concluded its investigation into the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history without determining a motive. The FBI makes the conclusion in a report given to The Associated Press on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019. After nearly 16 months, the agency says it can't determine why gunman Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and injured nearly 900 others in October 2017. (AP Photo/John Raoux, File)

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The high-stakes gambler responsible for the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history sought notoriety in the attack but left his specific motive a mystery, the FBI said Tuesday as it concluded the investigation of the 2017 massacre that killed 58 country music fans.
While the agency found no “single or clear motivating factor” to explain why Stephen Paddock opened fire from his suite in a high-rise casino hotel, Paddock may have been seeking to follow in his father’s criminal footsteps, the FBI said.
“It wasn’t about MGM, Mandalay Bay or a specific casino or venue,” Aaron Rouse, the agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas office, told The Associated Press. “It was all about doing the maximum amount of damage and him obtaining some form of infamy.”
Paddock’s physical and mental health was declining. The 64-year-old’s wealth had diminished, and he struggled with aging, federal agents said. The findings were contained in a long-awaited report compiled by the FBI’s Behavior Analysis Unit, a group of experts who spent months examining several factors that might have led to the rampage.
“This report comes as close to understanding the why as we’re ever going to get,” Rouse said.
Paddock, who acted alone, fatally shot himself as police closed in. Almost 900 people were hurt during the Oct. 1, 2017, attack on an outdoor concert.

Did anyone see the video of the attack showing constant audible machine-gun fire, totally inconsistent with bump stocks?
