Thread: Hurricane headed for Bermuda?

  1. #61
My house is going to flood. Sucky feeling watching the waters rise. Last hour has been rapidly deteriorating situation as far as water goes. Took a quick ride around the hood - last time I did that was around 3pm most the roads were still clear and passable. 30 minutes ago I realized the window to get out was closing and there is no chance that the house won’t flood- so I made the decision to bail. Thankfully we had a bail bag ready and we were out of the house in 5 minutes flat with 3 kids and a mentally breaking down wife.

Took them to the hospital where she works they will be able to room with the other employees. I rushed back home .... any later I would have been swept off the road in 2 locations. Back home here I’m a defender and fighter. This is my house rain or shine. Might not can save everything but I’m going to work on getting what I can up off the floor and I’ll tough it out. Much easier by myself

Breathing easy now. I think the water reached its high point and the worst of the rain is passed. Receded as it was lapping at the door. Drinking coffee running the ac sitting on the porch. Neighborhood is mostly empty except for about 5 houses.

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Never buy beer before a storm unless you like warm beer. Which, I don't. A good whiskey or run will get you through.
