Interesting that the states losing more people TO California in the top ten are:

    NY, VA, IL, MA.

The weather probably has more to do with that than anything... and all of those places have a faster pace of life than what one generally finds in California.

In coastal California, especially the southern half, you can expect winter time highs in the low to mid 60s, and it's hard to go more than 2 or 3 weeks without getting a couple days that get up to 70 or so.

Summer time highs are typically in the mid or upper 70s, hard to go more than 2 or 3 weeks without getting a couple days in the low 70s.

Then there is really something for everybody beyond that.. you can live in the mountains or the desert, plenty of rural areas as well.

You can choose a town with rednecks, hippies or hipster yuppies of any size. Huge state. Beautiful scenery, beautiful beaches, mountains, etc.

The people are usually pretty friendly and chill.

For decades, I have heard Californians complain about people moving here from the east coast who are all wound up all the time.

They are also all blue states. Not sure if that means anything.

Californication is not a concern for me...NH is way down on the list.

Indiana gets good weather 2-3 months out of the year, so I imagine most Californians would avoid us and instead to to Illinois.
