Thread: Texas Sues Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin at Supreme Court over Election Rules

    But BUT...
There is a 6-3 conservative majority on court! 3 trump justices! And Trump lose!
    Why is that?

Statement of Justice Alito, with whom Justice Thomas joins:In my view, we do not have discretion to deny the filing of abill of complaint in a case that falls within our originaljurisdiction. See Arizona v. California, 589 U. S. ___(Feb. 24, 2020) (Thomas, J., dissenting). I would thereforegrant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would notgrant other relief, and I express no view on any other issue.

Not a single trump justice sided with trump. Are they all controlled by radical left?

    Clearly.

This dismissal was entirely predictable. I don't know why so many Trump fans here were holding out hope for it, when Trump's other lawsuits were all thrown out. The truth is that Trump had a terrible legal team and no judge in his right mind would have believed the crappy "witnesses".

There are much better ways to oppose Biden, including making sure the Democrats don't get a majority in the Senate. This can still happen, and that should have been the focus this entire month.

Probably because I justices and judges are Statists and when you have the opportunity for Communism you are going to take it because you as a judge HATES capitalism.

Only way Trump could win at this point would be through the legislatures, which will probably stab him in the back as well.

Figured they would take a case in State vs State dealing with national election integrity. Guess they would prefer a more important case like gay marriage.

No doubt. The average folks have no clue how bad it really is. It is completely corrupt.

He did NOT toss it, he denied a preliminary injunction.

It and many other cases which will not suffer from the phony standing issue are still before the court or headed to it.

If there were any chance of courts giving MAGA a win, would powerful deep lobbies funded well-connected Netanayahu have so quickly congratulated Biden?

Seems many MAGA supporters were being tad bit naive if they expected courts to reverse Biden-Kamala play.

Now MAGA credibility will be on the line, will there be any real consequences & MAGA wrecking ball will be heading towards zionists lobbies who allegedly helped with 'stolen election' coup?

And no, Republics don't fall when some hollywood-showbiz-trained Globalist-Neocons-funded slick-talking flip-flopping reluctant-warrior leader of a political faction of a blundering party does not end up 'winning election' or fails to deliver 'too much winning that people will be sick and tired of'.

Between the Civil War/Reconstruction, the Federal Reserve, the 17th Amendment, the Military-Industrial Complex, et cetera ad nauseam, the Republic fell a long time ago (and not all at once or at any one particular moment). It's been nothing but shambling and increasingly desiccated revenant for quite a while now.

I am disappointed that I won't get to see the operatives of the U.S. Department of Propaganda (i.e., the corporate media, et al.) gnaw their own tongues off in head-exploding fits of apoplexy, but that would have been a short-term satisfaction in any case. A Biden presidency that many millions will regard as illegitimate will serve the longer-term purpose of further exposing the fact that a continent-wide mass democracy of over a third of a billion people is (and can be) nothing but a ludicrously untenable sham. A Trump victory would have undercut that salubrious result. Now that both "sides" have had a taste of having their noses rubbed in it, our ideological self-segregation can proceed apace. I hope that it will.

Guys, the legal system in this country exists to bolster the establishment. There was no way Trump was going to find recourse in the courts.

At the same time, the Party of Lincoln is a weak-kneed leftist establishment party. It was always going to stab Trump in the back.

At this point just prepare for the inevitable balkanization and breakup.

I'm confused. I get the "lack of standing" from one state suing another. I thought this was the reason the suits started at state level, and went upwards. Did SCOTUS toss the state level lawsuits that got appealed?

No. Texas filed directly with SCOTUS a motion for leave to file a complaint against Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

On grounds of "lack of standing," SCOTUS denied them permission to file that complaint.

So this doesn't have anything to do with any of the other state-level suits.

The same news media outlets have claimed that the 2016 election wasn't as a free and fair election yet when Biden beating out Obama,Bush and Clinton somehow makes the 2020 election a fair and free?

Of course it's a bunch of squawk - Texas and the Texas GOP ain't gonna do jack-doodly. At least, not yet.

But it "normalizes" the idea just a little bit more, thereby giving it greater social currency and impetus.

It is another straw on the camel's back, and that is all to the better.
