AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was arrested in Texas on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, authorities said Tuesday.


Jones was booked into an Austin jail shortly after midnight and released on bond a few hours later, Travis County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kristen Dark said. She said she had no further details and an arrest report was not immediately available.


Jones is being sued in Austin by the parents of a 6-year-old victim of the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre who claim the Infowars host used his show to promote falsehoods that the shooting was a hoax. His attorney in that case did not immediately respond to a Tuesday message seeking comment about his arrest.


Jones founded Infowars and produces his radio show in Austin. An article posted on his Infowars website said Jones discussed the arrest on his show Tuesday and claimed that his blood-alcohol level was under the legal limit of .08 percent.

I got thrown off a jury once for stating my opposition on the DWI's laws - police state during the questioning period. I said at one point it is like living in a police state that I have to worry about having a few glasses of wine when I go out to dinner.

The pathetic virtue signalling and outrage from a few others on the jury against what I said was entertaining. Especially seeing the disbelief on their faces when they got thrown off the jury for opposing my opinion. They acted as if the Judge and DA was going to give them a cookie or something for defending the laws. They were in total shock when they were asked to leave. (of course by the defence)

With Uber, Lyft and a cab company you do not know who you are getting and combine that if they think you have money or are famous it could certainly lead to problems.

Uber and Lyft are perfectly safe, the ride is recorded in the system, all of the GPS coordinates are saved, everything. It's not like hopping in a random cab and not even really knowing if the licenses are legit, you have it all hooked up to the network and you have their license plate number and make/model of the car before they even arrive.

Drivers know that the customer's account is tied to their credit card, and both sides give each other reviews and can easily file complaints.
