Wish me luck on my hunt...

It's that time of year again. I'm off on my annual deer hunt for 10 days. Tagging White Tail this year which should be fun since I normally hunt Muleys. The area we are going is pretty inaccessible so we are taking the 4x4s in and tent camping.

This is my one time of year to really unplug and get grounded with nature and the universe. No computer. No politics. No bad news. Just the quiet company of fellow good men and a shared goal... a goal that our ancestor's lives depended on that we have largely forgotten. I hunt not only to put food on the table, but to pay homage to my ancestors that were able to survive in conditions we soft fat losers today would crumble to the fetal position if we were faced with it.

See you all when I get back, hopefully more in tune with what really matters and grounded in some basic universal truths.

What kind of weather is this going to be ? I'm going camping in or around the polar circle around Christmas, needless to say, I'm bringing a tent stove.

personally, a friend of mine; the local tow truck driver; drops fresh hot roadkill deer at the top of my driveway any time the temps are under 40.

My freezer is stocked silly and I ain't got to hunt $#@!.

My uncle picks up roadkill. He even got into a fight with a guy on the side of the road over a deer once. o_O

Back to the land of crazy. Got myself a nice little white tail buck. 739 yards! My longest shot ever, so I am happy about that. Being processed now so I can have me some nice backstrap xmas morning!

Outstanding shot! Yeah, I'm going to do up something with some east coast venison for Christmas as well.

Wish I had picked up some when they were a couple hundred bucks each.
