Energy drink consumption leaves hole in head of new father

While Brianna was nine months pregnant with their first child, she received a phone call that Austin had an accident and was in the hospital.
Austin had suffered a brain hemorrhage.
Doctors were able to eliminate alcohol or drugs as the cause of the hemorrhage, and later confirmed it was Austin's excessive consumption of energy drinks that led to his condition.

Briana says Austin's energy drink habit came from working long hours and commuting.

    Pretty shocking if factual reporting.

The original story links to a Facebook page. The story has been removed. I suspect it's a hoax because this is one of the pictures. I am no MD but this looks like a traumatic brain injury. Hemorrhaging doesn't eat your skull.

And I would be wrong. Apparently there is a procedure called decompressive hemicraniectomy that would do this.

In any event, there's not enough information in the original story to verify the details.
