If there are, I'm sure they keep quiet, lest the morality police come in and blame the corruptions of government on them.

No, it's not a trap. It's an opportunity for LBGT (that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people) to come out on these forums, to discuss relevant issues, and to get to know each other.

This thread reminds me of the spoof video of Bush and Blair going to " a gay bar"
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sJqROHxjDA

And of course a White House full of gay Lincolns:

The ultimate minority is the individual. Protect the individual from Democracy and you will protect all groups of individuals
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual. - Thomas Jefferson
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

The name of the band that did that is "Electric Six". And the name of the song is "High Voltage". For some reason I thought about that when you mentioned the OP's screename.

I expect there are plenty, but unfortunately I don't think these forums are the most welcoming place for LGBT members to be open. Besides, I don't believe sexuality really is a political issue, and it wouldn't surprise me if this were a common sentiment in the community of liberty lovers. I'm not "open" about my heterosexuality, and I wouldn't discuss it on a political forum. I understand that's not quite the same thing as being an open LGBT person, but you see what I mean.

I didn't watch the video that was linked. Let me know if I'm missing anything earth shattering. As far as my screen name goes, it was the name of a local punk band when I was in middle school. Good grief. And I'm female to boot, so whatever you were thinking - and I don't know what you were thinking - yeah: not relevant.

I agree, being "openly heterosexual" is not the same as being openly gay. I do think sexuality is relevant to political discussion, just like lots of other characteristics, situations, or life experiences are. They all inform our political views. I doubt many heterosexuals think of their sexuality as informing their political views, but in my opinion it certainly does. I feel that my being gay has given me an impetus to question some of the beliefs that we are commonly fed as "truth," and simply to do more close observation and critical thinking about society, government, individuals, etc. Of course, straight people can come to these kinds of questioning views or critical thinking perspectives through other means.

I am not lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered but welcome to the forums and please be sure to invite some of your friends. Liberty is for all of us, not just the straight ones.

Motion seconded, the last thing I want to have to deal with on a political forum is sex crap, especially lgbt sex crap.

There were other gay freedom lovers 'round these parts when we were in full swing. Like most here, I don't really care who you choose to to what with as long as everybody is a grown up and in agreement.

So welcome, and allow me to apologize in advance for the religious right faction and anything they might say.

I always feel awkward when my friends don't get along with each other.

Wow this girl has some balls to post this here. Has she seen some of the religious threads? O well I don't have any problem with the people who like to use strange acronyms. Hell, my brother's gay and I just don't like him cuz he's a tool and voted Obama, I could care less about the sexual practices of family members cuz simply knowing about that is just gross in general.

All's well so long as you don't mind being singled out in snide humor.

Jooz, women, LGBT, Christians, liberals, conservatives, and libertarians are all subject to being trolled.

If God himself got off his throne, descended from the heavens, trumpetted at my door, and announced that I was wasting my time trying to get Ron Paul into the Whitehouse, I would thank him for his concern and ask him to leave me to my business. I've wasted lots of time on far less noble causes. ~RockEnds

    Yes, completely agree.

I'm as open as my bisexuality as anyone else is with their own sexuality,
which is not much to discuss on a political board.

Just because you enjoy anonymous sex in male bathrooms doesn't mean you are gay, so relax. Someone special will come along. You may have to lower your IQ requirements though.
