An interesting point is that, despite NH having the most machine guns, NH has the lowest murder rate. I guess there isn’t a connection between lots of assault weapons and lots of murders.

That's pretty surprising actually. I didn't think there were that many class IIIs nationally. Not many people want to go through the trouble of getting a CLEO signature and paying a $200 tax... not to mention open themselves to spot inspections and no transfers.

We should be pushing for the repeal of the moratorium on new full-auto rifles AND removing full auto and supressors from the NFA. Oh, and the elimination of the record keeping requirements of GCA 68 since it invites confiscation. That would be my counter-attack.

Pre 1986 it was almost no big deal to convert your AR to an M16. Of course, you were taking at the time a $350 weapon, and spending another $350 to get the NFA stamp done.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Yup. It was the Federal ban that drove the price through the roof. Of course the cost of ammo always made it a bit of a rich man's game.

There isn't a complete moratorium on new full-autos. Companies still make them, and they do.

You can't buy one unless you are a cop, a dealer for cops, or a Hollywood prop company.

Lots of war trophies. Treasury would run ads in newspapers periodically after WW2 to remind veterans that they needed to pay their tax. Different world then.

Look how low TX is. Did you expect TX to equal MA?

You gotta remember, those are just the registered weapons.
