Trump tweets he 'took a pass' at being named TIME's person of the year

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/24/politi...ine/index.html

He got it last year and they don't usually give it to the same person two years in a row so he is excusing not getting it again. Plus he would have to get his picture taken. You KNOW how much he hates that!

West Palm Beach, Florida (CNN)President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that he turned down a potential offer to be TIME Magazine's coveted "Person of the Year" after, Trump says, the magazine told him he would "probably" be given the honors.

"Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named "Man (Person) of the Year" like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot," Trump tweeted from his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, where is spending his Thanksgiving holiday.

"I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!" Trump wrote.

The President's tweet came after a day of talking to world leaders and playing golf with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson.

Trump has long been obsessed with being on the cover of TIME and other news magazines, even making fake covers to hang in some of his properties.

Last summer, TIME asked for the fake magazines to be removed after reports surfaced that at least five of Trump's golf clubs featured the fakes bearing his photo.
    Tweet from 2015:

    Last year:

His own fake magazine cover (and the real one):

Time fires back at Trump after 'Person of the Year' claim

Time on Friday fired back at President Trump's claim that he turned down the magazine's "Person of the Year" honor after being told that he would only "probably" receive the designation.

"The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year," the magazine wrote on its official Twitter account.

    TIME

    @TIME
The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.
    5:27 PM - Nov 24, 2017
Time's chief content officer, Alan Murray, also fired back at Trump from his own Twitter account.

    .

It seems to me that the reporter doing the story about Trump making fake Time covers was fake himself. I discovered the that reporter who composed the story did not seem as familiar with Time Magazine as he appeared to claim. Here is the thread. Start with my posts, 4, 7, 9, and 11.

I think it's fairly important that the President of the United States is a psychotically vain teenage girl.

On the other hand, it isn't news.

I think it is more of an act he puts on deliberately to distract the press and his other enemies, saying controversial or even downright stupid things on a regular basis gets them to waste their time on this trivia while he does more important things, there are many bigger things good and bad that his enemies could attack him for and instead they are talking about this.

Zippy falls for it hook line and sinker.

And I seem to recall Ron made the top 100 list. But Trump, who knocked the political classes on their respective asses, didn't make it. #SeemsLegit

If that's the case, then he's the greatest actor of all time, having remained in-character 24/7 for his entire adult life.

Dr. Paul Sr. agrees with me:

“I don’t think that there will be any curtailing of Donald Trump as president,” he said. "He controls the media, he controls the sentiment [and] he controls everybody."

    Dr. Ron Paul

So maybe he is the greatest actor in the world.

The thing is, "acting" implies a choice.

Daniel Day Lewis is an actor when the camera's rolling. When he's eating his cheerios, he's just Dan.

Trump isn't an actor in this sense. He's just Trump, 24/7: a lying, manipulative sociopath.

In short, Trump's "acting" is pathological.

OK, the greatest manipulator in the world.

One way or another I don't believe he is stupid, I believe he says things he doesn't mean to keep his enemies distracted like I said.

Think of it as the "Drunken Monkey" strategy applied to all of life.

Drunken Monkey Form or Drunken Monkey Pole Form of Kung Fu is a Chinese martial art and one of the variations of the Monkey Style.
This style is different from Zui Quan (Drunken Fist), as the practitioner is imitating gestures of an intoxicated monkey, rather than a human fighter.
Drunken Monkey does not begin with drunken-like gestures, but rather the drunken aspect enters the forms in the middle-section when the practitioner plays the movements of a monkey drinking stolen wine.
The Drunken Monkey style is visually completely different when compared to Zui Quan and is shorter in sequence. This style, however, is considered more artistically beautiful, acrobatic and agile compared to Zui Quan[citation needed]. This does not necessarily mean that it is more or less effective in actual combat.
Contrary to claims in movies, actually being drunk does not improve drunken monkey or drunken fist. It is based on the concept of imitating being drunk, actually being drunk is not required and may impair one's speed and ability to perform complex movements.[1]

No no, like I said, it's pathological.

He's not sitting down and planning out his lunacy in order to sneak in A, B, and C while the media's preoccupied.

    There is no plan.

How did these idiots become multi-millionaires?

Most entrepreneurs have to adapt and make what the people want.

But, sometimes, the people just happen to want what you make - the only thing you make, the only thing you're able to make.

I guess one could call it a plan, but the point @Swordsmyth is that it isn't a plan whose goal is political.

Politics is just another sales venue, like the WWF.

And my point is that when you or zippy or the MSM spend your time on these trivialities he wins, the more important things he could be attacked for are ignored and people dismiss you for bothering with something so pointless that will not affect their liberties or their wallets.
