About Us
- RonPaulForums.com is an independent grassroots outfit not officially connected to Ron Paul but dedicated to his mission. For more information see our Mission Statement.
The thing I like about Ron is that he reads my mind.
Pretty much the same comments I was making. "Who's paying for that?" "Are we all Keynesians now?"
"Foreign aid is taking money from the poor people of a rich country, and giving it to the rich people of a poor country." - Ron Paul
"Beware the Military-Industrial-Financial-Pharma-Corporate-Internet-Media-Government Complex." - B4L update of General Dwight D. Eisenhower
"Debt is the drug, Wall St. Banksters are the dealers, and politicians are the addicts." - B4L
"Totally free immigration? I've never taken that position. I believe in national sovereignty." - Ron Paul
Proponent of real science.
The views and opinions expressed here are solely my own, and do not represent this forum or any other entities or persons.
In case you don't care to watch. Personally, I prefer to read these things. Also, Ron Paul was Tweeting during the speech. You might want to check out his feed.

I already started but I'll ask B4L to merge the threads.

He called for "robust and meaningful engagement with the world". Given that he wants to cut the State Department by a third and increase the Defense budget I guess he means military engagements.
I did think to myself when talking about pipelines ....
Trump should have said "I'm ordering the pipeline to go forward. I will demand that the existing pipeline is dug up and replaced with American steel! This will result in 10k more American jobs."
ESL should cover sarcasm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILL99m1w9DQ
Actually most of the attacks in the US since 9/11 were committed by people born here.According to data provided by the Department of Justice, the vast majority of individuals convicted of terrorism and terrorism-related offense since 9/11 came here from outside of our country. We have seen the attacks at home, from Boston to San Bernardino, to the Pentagon, and yes, even the World Trade Center. We have seen the attacks in France, in Belgium, in Germany, and all over the world. It is not compassion but reckless to allow uncontrolled entry from places where proper vetting cannot occur.
how do I post tweets?
I figured it out...lol

Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.Thomas Jefferson
What he says he wants to replace Obamacare with sounds a lot like the current system:
Pre-existing conditions:
Continue or use different tax subsidies to help people afford plans (government helping pay for healthcare)First, we should ensure that Americans with pre-existing conditions have access to coverage, and that we have a stable transition for Americans currently enrolled in the health care exchanges.
Expand Medicaid:Secondly, we should help Americans purchase their own coverage, through the use of tax credits and expanded health savings accounts, but it must be the plan they want, not the plan forced on them by our government.
Thirdly, we should give our state governors the resources and flexibility they need with Medicaid to make sure no one is left out.The biggest change:Fourth, we should implement legal reforms that protect patients and doctors from unnecessary costs that drive up the price of insurance and work to bring down the artificially high price of drugs and bring them down immediately.
And finally, the time has come to give Americans the freedom to purchase health insurance across state lines.
Which will create a truly competitive national marketplace that will bring cost way down and provide far better care. So important. Everything that is broken in our country can be fixed. Every problem can be solved. And every hurting family can find healing and hope. Our citizens deserve this and so much more. So why not join forces and finally get the job done and get it done right?

@phill4paul Check out my edit and fork over the mega bonus rep, tightie.
I dont think that there will be any curtailing of Donald Trump as president, he said. "He controls the media, he controls the sentiment [and] he controls everybody. Hes the one who will resort to executive orders more so than [President] Obama ever used them." - Ron Paul

Not a Trump fan but DiLorenzo's observations of the Dem reactions cracked me up.
https://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog...-union-speech/My Impressions from Watching the State-of-the-Union Speech
Thomas DiLorenzo
Nancy Pelosi had a look of horror on her face, as though President Trump had just announced a moratorium on plastic surgery. Lindsey Graham, sitting next to John McCain in a weird boyfriend/girlfriend kind of way, looked like he had just fallen out of bed after an all-night drunk after President Trump said that he favored peace to war. Clownish Senator Al Franken, on the other hand, looked as though he really should have been wearing a Bozo the Clown suit. All the rest of the Democrats seemed to be suffering from an epidemic of constipation. They couldn’t even bring themselves to politely acknowledge the presence of two wives of murdered police officers in the audience whose husbands were murdered by an illegal alien who had been previously deported twice. They expressed silent disapproval when the president said that such a murderer should not have been allowed back into the country. Then they all ran out of the room as soon as it was over, like so many school children who had been forced to attend the last day of school before summer vacation. Most of them presumably ran off to CNN/MSNBC/NBC/ABC/Wapo/ETC to continue their demand of an investigation of how Russian spies supposedly conspired with Donald Trump to defeat their corrupt criminal hag in the November election.
The more prohibitions you have,
the less virtuous people will be.
The more weapons you have,
the less secure people will be.
The more subsidies you have,
the less self-reliant people will be.
Therefore the Master says:
I let go of the law,
and people become honest.
I let go of economics,
and people become prosperous.
I let go of religion,
and people become serene.
I let go of all desire for the common good,
and the good becomes common as grass.
-Tao Te Ching, Section 57
The figures are still sketchy.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/donald...ech-fact-checkWhat we know: Last year, the Department of Justice provided a Senate panel with a list of 580 individuals who were convicted of terrorism or terrorism-related offenses between Sept. 11, 2001, and Dec. 31, 2014. While the Justice Department did not provide immigration-related information on those individuals, the Senate panel -- led by then Sen. Jeff Sessions, who's now the U.S. Attorney General -- conducted open-source research and determined that at least 380 of those 580 people were born outside the United States.
However, a subsequent review by a Cato Institute analyst concluded that Sessions' findings were "flawed," with "two major problems:" "First, you might get the impression that all of those convictions were for terrorist attacks planned on U.S.-soil but only 40, or 6.8 percent, were. Second, 241 of the 580 convictions, or 42 percent, were not even for terrorism offenses. Many of the investigations started based on a terrorism tip like, for instance, the suspect wanting to buy a rocket-propelled grenade launcher. However, the tip turned out to be groundless and the legal saga ended with only a mundane conviction of receiving stolen cereal. According to Sessions’ list, that cereal thief is a terrorist." In addition, of the 380 foreign-born individuals identified by Sessions' office, about 24 were admitted to the United States as refugees.
According to data compiled by the New America Foundation, every “jihadist” who carried out a lethal attack in the U.S. since 9/11 was a citizen or legal resident. Counting non-lethal attacks, the vast majority of perpetrators were citizens or permanent residents. Forty-eight percent (192 out of 399) were U.S.-born citizens. Another 86 were naturalized citizens and 46 were permanent residents. Only eight were illegal immigrants and 16 were refugees or asylum seekers.

He wants to stop drugs from flowing into the US? We don't have a good history of that
let us teach them that all who draw breath are of equal worth, and that those who seek to press heel upon the throat of liberty, will fall to the cry of FREEDOM!!! Spartacus, War of the Damned
