Career politicians are not sincere. If they say they want to limit a program they won't do it because they have nothing to campaign on.

Maybe a leftist nonpolitician will stop wars or and a conservative nonpokitician will protect gun rights. At least we know they are trying on that issue. We also have more libertarians to choose from unlike only voting for Ron and Rand.

Career politicians are mostly lawyers and they are the reason we have thousands of regulations and high taxes. The nonpoliticians aren't going to enact all these regulations. Instead they are going to write simple laws as that would be all they know how to do.

BTW, did George Bush jr, George Bush sr, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and even Ronald Reagan(former governor) etc ever issue large numbers of executive orders to limit government?
