    Lightbulb Purchase Jefferson State!

So, this occured to me. California as we know has a budget crisis. What if the people of proposed Jefferson State and donations from abroad bought the area from California? If the legislators agree and we come up with a down payment could we in effect purchase our Free State? Would this be possible? Has it been tried?

    Seeking signatures
The Grange Hall of Yreka, a farm-based service organization, is activating 51 of its brethren halls in the area to collect 1 million signatures to have a statehood advisory measure put on the California ballot. Tony Intiso, a runoff candidate in the Nov. 4 election for Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors, has pledged to force the issue and is running campaign ads calling for regional freedom. The number of registered users of a decade-old Web site advocating partition has suddenly shot from dozens to more than 900.

"Heck yeah, it's a darn good idea," said Richard Mitchell, manager of the Cooley & Pollard Hardware Store on Miner Street, the main drag in the blink-and-you-miss-it town of Yreka. "Those liberal people down south don't understand us at all, and if there was a vote today to form a new state, it would pass in a heartbeat.

    "I would bet on it."

The window of Mitchell's store, where he tends the register in worn work boots and a camouflage hunting cap, displays T-shirts and flags sporting the state "seal" of Jefferson: Two X's denoting the double-crossing the area supposedly gets from the capitols of California and Oregon.

I must see what I can do to help.
Great! Just what we need, a state that bases it's economy on government run prisons.

To think they tried to recruit me to work here:

    http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/VISITORS/Facilities/PBSP.html

Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP) is designed to house California’s most serious criminal offenders in a secure, safe, and disciplined institutional setting. One half of the prison houses maximum security inmates in a general population setting. The other half houses inmates in the Security Housing Unit (SHU) designed for inmates presenting serious management concerns. The SHU is a modern design for inmates who are difficult management cases, prison gang members, and violent maximum security inmates.

Perhaps other options would emerge once they became disengaged with Sacramento & Salem. Then again Australia started out like this?

The more i think about this I keep coming to the same problem. If Jefferson were to happen, its sad to say, but it would be all politics. The only way I can see Jefferson coming to be Is if a third state was created to counter the addition of a "red" state.

So you would have Cali, the new republican controlled state and its senators, and possibly somewere else would have to be gerrymandered as a Democratic stronghold to get the D's on board to make a new state happen since i am guessing Cali and congress both have to vote to approve the new state.

I was as sorry to learn it as I am to say it, but LIFE is politics.

Fight fire with fire . . . politics, it is.

Only let's get the job done. This has been on a burner SINCE WORLD WAR II.

There's no time to seize the moment like 60-some years after the fact.

    **UPDATE**

    http://news.yahoo.com/51st-state-sma...233234624.html

.An effort to turn 13 southern California counties into the nation's 51st state took a small step forward Tuesday but remains an extremely long shot, say experts.

Four members of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to allow a fifth member to convene a statewide meeting on the subject in the fall. Each of the four supervisors stated their objections to the secession idea, but went ahead and approved the idea of at least talking about it when Supervisor Jeff Stone said he would “personally see to it” that private funding, not public money, would be used to hold the meeting.

I'll have to find out more about this statewide meeting.

Stone's South California would not include Los Angeles. In addition to Riverside County, the counties targeted for secession would be Fresno, Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Tulare, which include about 13 million people total.

California Rebellion 2012! A push to see a new California.

    Welcome To California Rebellion 2012!

    California Rebellion 2012

Official Page of The 51st State

    Preamble

Local governments have been besieged by our dysfunctional State Legislature over the past decade robbing us of our traditional tax revenue streams to provide for state and federally mandated services and discretionary expenditures for public safety, not limited to but including the District Attorney, Sheriff, Probation, Public Defender, etc. After local governments have been cut to the bone, the State Legislature again passed a local government grab in their 2011-12 quasi balanced budget with the same old gimmicky and overstated revenue predictions that will not materialize. I have come to the conclusion that the State of California is too big to govern, that the political priorities of Southern California and Northern California are completely different.

The Libtard Socialist majority will never allow a breakup of Kalifornia... the democrats want those 51 Electoral Votes going to a socialist. Any breakups whether in the north (Jefferson) or south San Diego region counties would be pure RED it would be a super advantage for the Republicans (2-4 more GOP/IND Senators plus the congressional districts). California Democrats would never allow this.

Imagine the prosperity if there was a succession and they had small low cost goverment and 0% state/corporate income tax? Businesses would flourish to the newly formed states. Hell, Amazon.com would be back in... port of trade with the far east.

It would be a major decay of the socialist ruled remnants.

True, but Puerto Rico will balance that with two Democrat senators.

Not if people with a natural right to as much self-determination as possible mildly ASK for permission from (ambitious, invested, unethical) "Authorities" and meekly take NO for an answer.

Not all of it. California is big.

People who say/think California is one big $#@! hole have never BEEN to California or don't get out of Southern California, that has been my experience.

Better that Jefferson is the 51st that, than that Puerto Rico is America's 51st state.

Better that what remains of California serves as a BUFFER between Jefferson and Mexico...like Georgia served as a buffer between South Carolina gentility and Florida savages, back in the day.
