The Saudi Air Force is being trained by the British Government to assist in the atrocities in Yemen.
Defence Minister Michael Fallon, who was forced to resign on 1 November month over some sexual harassment scandal, said the Royal Saudi Air Force was helped to “improve their targeting processes” and compliance with “international law”.
    Fallon wrote:
As part of our ongoing defence engagement with Saudi Arabia, the UK has provided training to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) both in the UK and in Saudi Arabia, including international targeting courses for RSAF personnel, to improve their targeting processes and to support International Humanitarian Law (IHL) compliance.
PM Theresa May has defended selling arms to Saudi Arabia by insisting those “keep people on the streets of Britain safe”: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a7375551.html

Every hour, 27 children are diagnosed as acutely malnourished: that’s 600 more starving children every single day.
UNICEF predicts that 150,000 children could die by the end of 2017. An estimated one million children are facing starvation as a result of the war against Yemen.
Fuel shortages mean at least 7 cities have no clean water and sanitation.

Earlier this month some pictures were posted on Facebook that were swiftly removed…
As part of Operation Crossways up to 50 UK military personnel have been teaching Saudi soldiers to improve their mass murdering skills.
The following picture shows that Saudi troops are given instructions by a British Army trainer, with the light blue map, as he explains a possible attacking strategy: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5117571/Britains-secret-role-Saudi-Arabias-dirty-war.html
    (archived here: http://archive.is/ENNSZ)

    According to Geert Cappelaere:
The war in Yemen is sadly a war on children. Yemen is facing the worst humanitarian crisis I have ever seen in my life.
UNICEF in its greatest philanthropic disguise has flown 1.9 million doses of vaccines to Yemen to vaccinate 600,000 children against diphtheria, meningitis, whopping cough, pneumonia and tuberculosis.

There is no vaccine, however, against starvation and lack of clean drinking water...
Two UNICEF vessels carrying food and water purification tables and medicines have not received clearance to dock in Hodeida: http://abcnews.go.com/International/...ckade-51388803

See what Yemeni children dying of starvation look like. I really hope they get their vaccines before dying...

Violence escalates in Sanaa as Saleh loyalists battle Houthis
    https://www.almasdarnews.com/article...attle-houthis/

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:40 P.M.) – Heavy smoke billowed over Sana’a, Saturday, as clashes between Houthi fighters and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh continued for the fourth consecutive day.

The fighting has reportedly involved heavy artillery and rocket launchers, killing scores of fighters on both sides and forcing many local residents to leave their homes.

The violence erupted on Wednesday after Saleh’s supporters allegedly refused to allow Houthis to enter the Saleh Mosque to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. The next day, Saleh’s General People’s Congress reportedly accused Houthi forces of violating a truce by allegedly carrying out an attack on the house of Saleh’s nephew, Tarek Saleh, and killing three guards.

The two groups have fought against the Saudi-led coalition, which intervened in Yemen in 2015 in a bid to reinstate the government of ousted President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. In October, the Saudi-led coalition imposed a blockade on Yemen, following an intercepted missile attack on Riyadh, for which Houthis claimed responsibility.

Earlier in the day, Saleh stated that he is open to talks with the Saudi-led coalition battling Houthi fighters, if the coalition halted its attacks on Yemen.

Houthis recapture large parts of Sana’a from Saleh’s Republican Guard
    https://www.almasdarnews.com/article...ublican-guard/

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (9:52 PM) – The Houthi Ansarullah and allied security forces were able to recapture Al-Siyasi district and the Security Square in Sana’a after intense clashes that lasted hours with ousted president Saleh’s loyalists in the Yemeni capital.

Fierce clashes are ongoing near Sab’in Square, Asr district, and Jaza’ir street as the opposing sides vie for dominance over the populated capital. Earlier today, security forces and Ansarullah were able to secure the 4th Brigade Military Base and several other military bases that were captured by the Republican Guard in the morning.

Infighting had imploded in northern Yemen four days ago after Saleh’s forces began attacking Houthi forces headquarters across the country in a move believed by many to be coordinated with the Saudi-led Coalition.

Saleh had said in a televised speech that he was willing to negotiate with his Saudi “brothers” to reach a political settlement that will improve the humanitarian situation of his Yemeni brethren. He was accused of treachery by the Houthis and their political allies.

Houthis claim to fire missile at UAE Capital Abu Dhabi
    https://www.almasdarnews.com/article...ile-abu-dhabi/

The report, broadcasted by Ansarullah median organisation al-Masirah TV, stated that the Missile Forces of Yemen had fired a missile towards an unfinished nuclear power plant in the Abu Dhabi emirate.

“The missile force announces the launching of a winged cruise missile (…) toward the al-Barakah nuclear reactor in Abu Dhabi,” a statement on the al-Masirah website stated on Sunday.

The al-Barakah Project, constructed by South Korean corporation KEPCO, is scheduled to be finished and become operational in 2018. The Emirati state-run WAM news agency has denied that the building project has been hit by Yemeni missiles.

Ansarullah’s leader, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badreddine al-Houthi, had warned the UAE earlier this week for retaliatory strikes, in response to the nation’s involvement in the Saudi-led coalition invasion of Yemen that started in March 2015.

The missile launch marks the second time this year that Ansarullah has targeted the UAE in strategic retaliation strikes. In August, the organisation stated to have succesfully launched a test missile with the capacity to reach Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

I wanted to post about that, but you beat me to it (keep up the good work)...
Today, Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television announced that Ali Abdullah Saleh has been killed by the Houthi militia: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-y...-idUSKBN1DY12V

I don’t know if this news is for “real”. I'm not convinced by the picture for “evidence” of the dead Saleh.

On Wednesday 29 November, forces loyal to former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh started an all out war against the Houthis in the streets of Yemeni capital Sanaa. Sanaa is controlled by the Houthis since 2015.
Most of the fighting is during the nights...
The Houthis have accused Saleh of selling out to Saudi Arabia.

According to human rights activist Osama al-Fakih, “coalition” air attacks offered the only brief pause to the fighting. He said the sound of heavy shelling reverberated through the city's deserted streets into the early hours of Monday.

According to the International Red Cross the fighting in Sanaa killed at least 125 people and wounded 238.
For the last 2 days Sanaa was also bombed by the Saudi aggressor in support of Ali Abdullah Saleh: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a8090486.html

Saleh blamed the rebels for what’s happening in Yemen.
An anonymous Yemeni official told Al Jazeera that they are aiming to bring Saleh’s son, Ahmed, into power:
Mohammed Bin Salman [Saudi Arabia's crown prince and heir to the throne] has been influenced by the UAE and thinks switching from [Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour] Hadi to Saleh will help end the war.
    (...)
Saleh has completely sidelined the Houthis. With help from the UAE, he's still dancing on the heads of snakes. In a year or two from now, his son, Ahmed, or even former Prime Minister Khaled Bahah [who currently resides in the UAE], could be the next man to rule Yemen.
According to political analyst Murad Alazzany, Saleh's son is the UAE's "trump card":
The UAE has been keeping hold of Ahmed should anything happen to his father. In that event, they plan to immediately dispatch him to Yemen to take over his [Saleh's] role.

In a brief statement issued Wednesday afternoon, President Trump called on Saudi leadership to completely lift the years long Saudi military blockade on war-torn Yemen. The unexpected announcement came on the same day President Trump delivered an extremely controversial televised address wherein he gave official US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
“I have directed officials in my administration to call the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to request that they completely allow food, fuel, water and medicine to reach the Yemeni people who desperately need it,” Trump said through a White House press release. “This must be done for humanitarian reasons immediately.”

The real Motive for the long overdue turnabout?:

Though it's unclear exactly why the directive was suddenly issued after years of humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen, it is likely connected with the widespread shock and condemnation from world leaders which immediately followed in the wake of Trump's speech formally recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. The Yemen directive was published by the Office of the Press Secretary only a matter of two hours later. …

Saudi Arabia has enforced a military blockade on deeply impoverished Yemen since it began bombing the country in 2015. … As early as June 2015, for example, a Guardian investigation found that the US and UK were enabling the crippling blockade, which has been widely acknowledged as a "humanitarian disaster". …

the White House decision in reality has nothing to do with humanitarian concerns, as the US itself has for the past two years been partnering with the Saudis in all its actions in Yemen

Saudi airstrikes on the impoverished country, which have killed many thousands of civilians - a shocking percentage of children among them according to the UN - and displaced tens of thousands, have further involved the use of American military hardware. Cholera has recently made a comeback amidst the appalling war-time conditions, and civilian infrastructure such as hospitals have been bombed by the coalition. …

And the coalition's military campaign greatly intensified this week …

So why is Trump belatedly citing "humanitarian reasons" now?
it appears that today's statement on Yemen is no doubt connected with what many described as the strong and vehement reaction to the earlier Jerusalem recognition move by both King Salman and MBS. "This sounds like a tit-for-tat statement concerning the Jerusalem move. What happened suddenly for this administration to care about Yemenis, esp given recent news the Saudi-led Coalition lifted some of the blockade?" observed Hassan Hassan shortly after the release of the Yemen directive.

Good. And now, Trump, do the same for the countries you’re harming: Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, etc. and stop selling weapons to the Sauds.

    We'll see what develops.
So far, it looks like the Sauds are giving Trump the middle finger as UN reports "no progress":

"UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Jamie McGoldrick says that there has been “no progress” seen with respect to the Saudi blockade of Yemen, adding that there are 15 aid ships, mostly laden with food and fuel, still parked off the coast waiting for permission to reach port."

Russian embassy suspends activity in Yemen – Zakharova
    https://www.almasdarnews.com/article...men-zakharova/

Russia’s diplomatic presence in Yemen has been suspended, all personnel have left the country,
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS on Tuesday.

“Given the situation in Sana’a, the decision was made to suspend the Russian diplomatic presence in Yemen.
The personnel of the Russian Embassy have left the country,” Zakharova said.

“The Russian Ambassador [to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkin] and part of the diplomatic corps will perform their functions from Riyadh,” Maria Zakharova said.

Violent fighting has been going on in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a since November 29.
Clashes began when the Houthi rebels attempted to seize a number of state buildings and facilities controlled by former president Ali Abdullah Saleh’s supporters.
On December 2, Saleh broke partnership with the Houthis, and was killed by the rebels on December 4, while trying to leave the capital and move to his native settlement.

The standoff between the Yemeni government forces and rebels began in August 2014 but the conflict entered an active phase
when the Saudi-led coalition invaded the country.

In January 2015, the Houthis seized Sana’a forcing President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to move to Aden.
He left the country after the Houthis entered the city on March 25.
Since March 26, Saudi Arabia, supported by the air forces of Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates,
has been conducting a military operation against the rebels.

As Saudi continues its exterminating and starvation of Yemen, Washington sells it more weapons to finish the job.

President Trump announced a $110-billion package of proposed military sales to the kingdom, …

The State Department says the arms package, announced during Trump’s recent visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, will help a key Middle East ally defend itself …. In addition to replenishing the kingdom’s dwindling supply of precision-guided bombs, the administration is offering howitzer artillery pieces, Blackhawk helicopters and the antimissile system known as Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD.

The Saudis say they need the weaponry to defend themselves against Yemeni rebels …

“We don’t want people to think we are purchasing weapons to have influence,” said a high-ranking Saudi defense official who was not authorized to discuss the deal publicly. “We respect the sovereignty of countries [except for Yemen, Syria, Qatar, Iran]” …

Although all sides in the war stand accused of abuses, United Nations officials attribute most of the heavy civilian toll to the air campaign waged by Saudi Arabia … and pushed what was already the Arab world’s poorest nation to the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe. …

The economy is collapsing; government employees have not been paid for months; prices for food and fuel have skyrocketed; half the country’s health facilities are closed and a raging cholera epidemic is killing hundreds. …

A bipartisan effort to halt the sale, worth about $500 million, was narrowly defeated in the Senate on Tuesday. "This barbaric nation should not be getting our weapons," said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who sponsored the resolution. ..

Saudi Intentionally Targeting Yemen Food Supplies, Production and Distribution

At 11.30pm, 10 nautical miles off Yemen’s western Red Sea coast, seven fishermen were near the end of the four hours it had taken to haul their nets bulging with the day’s catch into their fibreglass boat. Suddenly, away from the illumination of the vessel’s large spotlight, one of the men spotted a black silhouette coming towards them.

Moments later a helicopter began circling overhead. The fishermen were well within the 30 nautical mile boundary they had been warned not to cross … But, without warning, gunfire erupted from the helicopter. … By the time the onslaught stopped, the captain – a father of eight – and Abdullah were dead. Another crew member, Hamdi, was deafened and paralysed down one side after being hit in the head by shrapnel. All bleeding heavily, the five survivors frantically began bailing water out of the sinking boat. …

More than 250 fishing boats have been damaged or destroyed and 152 fishermen have been killed by [Saudi] warships and helicopters in the Red Sea …

“They have declared war on fishermen,” …

Yemen’s fishing industry has become an ever more vital lifeline for a country in the midst of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. …

“I have three wells on my land. But now I don’t grow anything,” he said. When food prices started to rise, he went to rebuild the polytunnels needed to grow vegetables in the extreme mountain temperatures of Yemen’s arid northern highlands. But his neighbours begged him to stop. “The Saudis target them [the polytunnels]. They were afraid the planes would come back, bomb us and kill their families.” …

Research on the pattern of bombing, carried out by emeritus professor Martha Mundy at the London School of Economics, concluded that in the first 17 months of the Saudi-led bombing campaign there was “strong evidence that coalition strategy has aimed to destroy food production and distribution” …

Data on coalition airstrikes collected by the Yemen Data Project have recorded 356 air raids targeting farms, 174 targeting market places and 61 air raids targeting food storage sites from March 2015 to the end of September 2017. …

Attacking Yemenis’ ability to provide food for themselves has been described as a “blatant violation of international laws” by aid agencies. …

Yemen analysts also point to the policy as a more appealing option for the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who also holds the role of minister of defence, than deploying thousands of loosely aligned, highly factional troops to attempt a precarious forced takeover of the Houthi-controlled capital. …

“Destruction of access to food and water constitutes a war crime,” Mundy of the LSE noted in a paper published in September by the Global Network for the Right to Food and Nutrition. “But who is to prosecute when the same international organisations and national states, which stood aside for months of bombardment and blockade, now play the role of humanitarian intervention to save Yemenis from famine and cholera?”

As alliances shift after the assassination of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Saudi-led coalition (especially the United Arab Emirates) is suddenly finding itself on friendlier terms with its old Yemeni adversary, Islah. An Islamist party with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Islah is headed by Mohammed al Yidumi and its members were once hunted by Emirati Security Belt allies in southern Yemen. In a dramatic turn of fortunes, Yidumi met Dec. 13 with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and emerged from the meeting with hopeful statements about brotherhood and cooperation. Meanwhile, Emirati Minister of State Affairs Anwar Qarqash tweeted that Islah had broken all ties with Emirati archrival the Muslim Brotherhood.

The data show that agricultural land was the target most frequently in every governorate (see the picture), except for Shabwa and al Mahwait (where the road to Sanaa was the main target). In Yemen agriculture is less than 3% of the area. This makes it even more evident that agriculture was intentionally destroyed: http://blogs.lse.ac.uk/mec/2017/06/1...ltural-sector/

I still haven’t found a single story on the internet with claims that the death of Ali Abdullah Saleh is a hoax. Why would everybody believe this? Even if he was killed, I have no reason to believe that the Houthis did it...
I have also tried to find evidence that Saleh was indeed killed earlier this month.
Besides stories that confirm that he was killed by the Houthis, and the video that could be fake, his ID card (in the hands of a Houthi?) has been presented for evidence.

Video of Houthis Burkan 2-H missile launch that targeted Riyadh earlier today.

The Saudis spent literally billions on 'missile defense' for Riyadh.. including
both Patriot system, Israeli 'Iron Dome' and others.. they want S-400s from Russia.
They claim to have 'intercepted' this missile.
However.. detailed reports say that the fuselage was struck...
but the 'warhead' landed quite nicely in a populated suburb of Riyadh.
Houthis were aiming for a well known palace and missed.

In a recent press conference, the Yemeni Ministry of Health says that because of the war against Yemen, 52,000 children died in 2016 for preventable causes. That’s 1000 every week, almost a child every 10 minutes.

Some 35,000 Yemenis were killed or wounded by airstrikes since the war started in March 2015. That’s about 35 people every day.
The war by the coalition has also triggered a cholera outbreak that has killed 2,236 people so far.

Because of the ceaseless aggression, more than 55% of the health facilities don’t function, and the remaining 45% operates with a minimum capacity.
As a direct result of the airstrikes, 415 health facilities have been destroyed, either completely or partially.

Some 2 million Yemeni children suffer from malnutrition, of which half a million are dying of starvation.
According to the World Food Programme, more than 21 million Yemenis are in need of humanitarian assistance, and more than 9 million are expected to enter the stage of starvation: http://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/0...emen-Saudi-war

One day after Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed bin Dagher made a public request for funds to help bolster his country's weakening rial, Saudi Arabia's King Salman on Jan. 17 ordered the deposit of $2 billion into the Central Bank of Yemen, Reuters reported Jan. 17. A source close to the Saudi government said the cash infusion was not a loan and instead a deposit, which the Yemeni government would not have to pay back.
