I can understand that. This is actually the biggest hurdle I had to overcome before becoming Orthodox.

Orthodox Christianity isn't a set of precepts. It's not a catechism. It's not even a volume of official doctrines.
Perhaps the most shocking statement of all... Orthodox Christianity is not the Bible.

Orthodoxy is unabashedly mystical. It is a religion, in the wackiest, used-by-atheists-trying-to-call-us-all-crazy sense of the word.

What I was saying is that the view presented in the video is not Orthodox. Saint Seraphim of Arzamas-16 lived in woods not because he wished to pray in the temple of Nature but because he wished to go away from people like all other ascetics.

Never before I heard this point of view presented as Orthodox. This is something from John Muir.
