Trump Organizations Convicted on All Criminal Tax Fraud Counts

A Manhattan jury has found two Trump Organization companies guilty on multiple charges of criminal tax fraud and falsifying business records connected to a 15-year scheme to defraud tax authorities by failing to report and pay taxes on compensation for top executives.

Although Donald Trump wasn't charged it's hard to believe he wasmn't aware of what was going on.

Really?! After 4 years in the White House, I find it VERY believable that he isn't aware of what is going on.

It's pretty clear Weisselberg acted for himself. Wages are costs deducted from revenue, so if a company doesn't report all your wages, it pays more in corporate income taxes. It makes little sense for a company to purposefully run a scheme like this.

There will be a small fine and the company will move forward.

Look If you want to argue it's "selective prosecution" then so be it. For every rich elite who gets their dick slapped in the courts there are a hundred others that will never answer for the same/similar crimes.

It won't take very long to get them home but it won't be overnight either but Iraq says they can't stay and they are coming home just like Trump said.

Weisselberg wasn't the only company exec who got unreported benefits. The companies may have felt it was worth it to keep these execs by paying them unreported compensation. In addition, the company evaded paying payroll tax on the extra benefits.

Doesn't the Social Security tax stop getting taken out after around 150k? Isn't SS the largest chunk of payroll tax?

There is a cap on the 6.2% FICA taxes, but the 1.45% Medicare tax has no cap.

In a state like Ill or an east or west coast state I'd guess state , county , city and fed taxes would be much more than the social security and medicare taxes.

So the Company's liability for payroll tax for the non eligible benefits would be pretty insignificant for highly compensated executives.

Do you honestly think this would have been done without Trump's OK and/or knowledge? Weisselberg testified that Trump personally paid the private school tuition for his grandchildren.

Very few entities would come thru an audit/investigation the magnitude that they did on Trump and come out unscathed. I would call a 1 million dollar fine a win.
