This is the thin end of the wedge, they use the word "reparations" with the purpose of conditioning people so they can demand money for all gays later.

Short answer: Extending the reparations debate to every possible group imaginable does nothing but dilute and ultimately destroy the question of reparations for slavery. And it's dishonest. Gays weren't forced to work for free for being gay. There was not a history of "gay lynching" in America. You didn't have whole gay communities ethnically cleansed in the 20th century the way you had with blacks in Rosewood Florida, Forsythe County Georgia, or Tusla Oklahoma (black Wallstreet). Look back to the Civil Rights movement and you will find that civil rights activist and openly gay male, Byron Rustin pled to a lesser sentence for having sex in California park with another man then he would have gotten if he had been having sex with a woman. Public schools and universities didn't bar gays from attending for being gay. Their behavior could be punished, but not their personhood.

So yes. Many descendants of slaves resent every other "group" piggybacking off our struggle. Alexandria Ortega Cortez wants reparations for Latinos? For what exactly? Obama went out of his way to help every other group BUT black people.



Blacks actually lost economic ground under Obama.

What's funny is that it's not even a secret. Immigration is blatantly being used in order to game the "democratic" system. The left openly cheers on demographic change as a solution to breaking what they perceive as the "conservative" voting bloc, while some people supposedly on our side won't even acknowledge that's what they are trying to achieve, despite the proponents clearly spelling it out (or acknowledging that their superior, pure libertarian goals will be crushed as a result). After a week of discussions about reparations for slavery - soundly dismissed by numerous African American speakers - Senator Elizabeth Warren has tried to outdo her opponents by seeking reparations for another group of repressed and long-suffering individuals.
Warren reintroduced the Refund Equality Act, a bill that would allow same-sex couples to amend past tax returns and receive refunds from the IRS.

“The federal government forced legally married same-sex couples in Massachusetts to file as individuals and pay more in taxes for almost a decade,” Warren said in a statement.
“We need to call out that discrimination and to make it right - Congress should pass the Refund Equality Act immediately.”

As NBC News reports, a report by the Joint Committee on Taxation released Tuesday estimated that taxpayers who were in same-sex marriages prior to the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act in 2013 would be eligible for up to $57 million in refunds. Warren introduced a version of the bill in 2017.
