Thread: Would you emigrate to Asia? Need your advice

Question Would you emigrate to Asia? Need your advice

I am in the process of setting up a business that helps Americans emigrate to Asia. I was wondering if the concept would be appealing you (the Liberty crowd) as much as it appeals to me, and what kind of services or information might interest you.

The compelling reason to go is that you can have a much better lifestyle and there's greater economic opportunity in Asia. It's particularly attractive if you have US dollar savings; in some desirable parts of Asia, you can have a good full meal for $2, and a 30 minute taxi ride is around $2. Some parts of Asia have an incredibly hospitable and friendly culture that you will fall in love with (like I did). Finally, it is becoming more imperative to get out while you still can! This country seems to be barreling down the road to socialism/serfdom despite the best efforts of Ron Paul and ourselves.

Emigrating to a new country is a complicated process, and there's a lot of things to explore and consider before going. To make the move as efficiently and safely as possible, you need a trusted partner to lead you through the process. That's where we come in

There are some of the services we will be offering
    • Recommend a destination country and city based on your needs
    • Custom research into your prospective destination
    • Job placement assistance
    • Arrange exploration/orientation trip
    • Temporary Housing recommendation/arrangements
    • Service provider (lawyers, tax/accounting, realtor, doctor) recommendations

Would you be willing to make the move? Under what circumstances? What other services would you be interested in?

    Thanks for your feedback!

Sounds like an awesome idea. I have been thinking about emigrating to Australia for some time now, but I would consider Asia if a service such as yours was available. I bet you could do some cross promotion with EuroPacific Capital, as they advocate getting your money out of the country.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I will be reaching out Europac to become a strategic partner once we get cranked up (should be in the next few weeks). Some of Schiff's statements to the effect of "more and more Americans are going to be leaving the US as it becomes less and less economically competitive" really struck home with me, and were partially an inspiration to get this business going.

    This is an excellent idea!

None of the options really fit our situation - we have not ruled out Asia but it isn't high on our list.
Why can't everybody else leave everybody else alone?

Thanks for the feedback. Which region were you thinking of moving to? Would you mind telling me a little about your needs so that I can adjust my marketing strategy accordingly (feel free to private message me with any info you don't want getting into the general population).

I have thought about Australia as well. Seems like it would be a pretty easy transition.

Actually, if you added Australia and New Zealand to your list, it would probably be an easier sell. I've almost sold my Dad on retiring to Australia, though I fear it may be too late by the time he does in five years.

Another good possibility is that you could open some sort of holding company in each of those countries so that people can convert their money before leaving (ie issue shares proportional to the amount of money they deposit in the companies bank account--or something like that). Opening up a bank account in a far off country is a royal pain. If you could offer up a service like that, that would probably help you get funds earlier on than you would otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestions. We will expand to other countries eventually, but I have good contacts in East Asia that I plan on leveraging. The great thing about Asia vs. Aus and NZ is that it's soooo cheap. If you're middle class in the US, you can be upper class or downright rich in Asia. In Aus and NZ you're still middle class...

I love the holding company idea!

You should be very succesful in your venture. I am currently learning Mandarin and want to work on an international level. New Zealand would be nice, though. The women there are very nice ladies.

Have you mastered the 4 tones yet? I found it amusing that they view the tongue as a private organ. You might be sent to jail in China for sticking your tongue out at somebody. In China, that is considered indecent exposure.

Based on my travels in Asia, I think the Philippines and Malaysia are the best fit for most Americans due to language requirements and their low cost. We will be offering the service for most countries in Asia eventually, and perhaps expanding to other regions in the world depending on what the market demands.

Thrashertm, I am currently considering the Phillippines. My wife's dad works for Dole and he can get a job there easy, a higher paying one at that, the same job.

The only thing holding me back is my wife has a nice job here. We all speak spanish so I think we could get a long good there in the Philippines.

Yes you will be fine in the Philippines. As you know, Tagolog is a mix of the native tongue, Spanish and English.

As bad as this sounds, America is still one of the countries with the greatest amount of liberty. Secondly, I will never leave this country. I will either die defending whatever State has the balls to Nullify/Interposition/Seceede, or from self-defense from the tyranny.

So no. I will not abandon the home that housed Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry. I will not run from my duties and responsibilities to me, my family, or my posterity. Liberty or Death.

Remember that America itself was founded by those who were fleeing from oppression.

Just read that foreigners can't own property in the Philippines so scratch that, I'm back to:

    1)Panama
    2)Costa Rica
    3)Moving back to Texas

Foreigners can own property there under certain conditions, and there are ways to circumvent the rules. This is where we'd come in and help =)

So how much would your services cost, ballpark? I have about a 0.02% chance of moving anywhere within the next 5 years, but I'm just curious.

We are still working out a pricing model for all of the services, but I am thinking of charging $20 an hour for the basic research service. Do you think that's reasonable for research that is being performed by trusted consultants based in the country you are interested in moving to?

Sounds interesting, but Asia is a big place. Can you get China or India for instance?

    Hong Kong? Singapore? Thailand?

Of course Jim Rogers is in Singapore and Marc Faber is in Thailand so those are probably good spots.

I'm planning on offering the service in all of Asia eventually. We'll probably start with a select few countries so that it's not overwhelming. Fortunately I have great contacts in all the countries you mentioned =)

You people that are running, where you gonna run to?

At best you might buy yourself 20 years before the NWO catches up to you.

    Then where will you go?

Maybe after 20 years of deepening crisis in the US, the sheeple will come to their senses and the empire will fall Soviet Union style.

I've already bought land in Asia, just need to develop it. Not so easy the way the economy is going though.
