    Update:
As reported earlier, Harvey Weinstein turned himself in to the New York Police Department at the First Precinct in Tribeca this morning to be arrested and face criminal charges stemming from multiple sexual assault allegations.
Weinstein, who is facing years behind bars, is likely looking at first degree and third degree rape charges and a first degree criminal sexual act charge from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Weinstein arrived amid a throng of media and onlookers gathered at the police station, with NYPD barricades up to separate them from the disgraced Hollywood producer as he was escorted inside. He was not handcuffed.

Incidentally, looks like Mueller investigations may have led to this outing for assaullts going back decades.

Israeli Operatives Who Aided Harvey Weinstein Collected Information on Former Obama Administration Officials

The private-intelligence firm Black Cube compiled profiles on Colin Kahl (pictured) and Ben Rhodes, Obama Administration advisers who were proponents of the Iran nuclear deal.

In June, 2017, Ann Norris, a former State Department official, received an e-mail containing an unusual proposal. Norris is married to Ben Rhodes, a former foreign-policy adviser to President Barack Obama and a prominent advocate of the Iran nuclear deal. In the e-mail, a woman who introduced herself as Eva Novak and claimed to work for a London-based film company called Shell Productions asked Norris to consult on a movie that she described as “ ‘All the President’s Men’ meets ‘The West Wing’ ”: it would follow the personal lives of “government officials in the positions that determine war and Peace” during times of geopolitical crisis, including “nuclear negotiations with a hostile nation.” Recalling the exchange, Ann Norris said that she found Eva Novak’s request “bizarre,” and that she “never responded.”
The e-mail appears to be part of an undercover campaign by an Israeli private-intelligence firm to discredit Obama officials who had been leading proponents of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The campaign was first reported, on Saturday, by the British newspaper the Observer. However, sources familiar with the effort and pages of documents obtained by The New Yorker reveal that there is more to understand. Two of those sources told me on Sunday that the operation was carried out by Black Cube—a firm that was also employed by Harvey Weinstein and that offers its clients access to operatives from “Israel’s élite military and governmental intelligence units,” including the Mossad.

Not saying he is a good guy, but women are just as guilty in a lot of these situations.. Weinstein may use his Hollywood power to get sex, but the women are using their sexuality to get money and fame. Who cares if a guy wants to have sex? As long as he doesn't force anybody or hurt anybody.

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was charged Friday with counts of felony rape and committing a criminal sex act, stemming from cases involving two women, prosecutors said. Weinstein, 66, surrendered Friday at the New York City Police Department's 1st Precinct in Lower Manhattan.

He appeared in court later and was charged with assaulting Lucia Evans, who told investigators he forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004. The NYPD is also looking into an accusation by another woman who said he assaulted her in her apartment eight years ago.
Weinstein is charged with first- and third-degree rape and criminal sexual act in the first degree for forcible sexual acts, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said in a statement.
First-degree rape and criminal sex act are class B felonies, while third-degree rape is a class E felony. The most serious rape charge carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
"Mr. Weinstein has always maintained that he has never engaged in nonconsensual sexual behavior with anyone. Nothing about today's proceedings changes Mr. Weinstein's position," defense attorney Benjamin Brafman said.
Weinstein entered a not guilty plea and "expects to be fully exonerated," Brafman added. The film producer has until next week to decide whether to tesitfy before a grand jury.
The film mogul posted $1 million cash bail and was released pending his next court appearance. He must wear an ankle bracelet and can only travel within the New York or Connecticut.

The allegations in the media before had nothing to do with rape that I was aware, and that had been a talking point I heard many times that he did creepy stuff but didn't force himself on anybody or rape anybody.

These allegations are different, we will see. Would be nice if there was some physical evidence of something and we weren't reliant on testimony from years ago.. I mean, did he really force her physically to give him a bj, or was it for her career?

I have about as much sympathy for Weinstein as I do for the potted plant, but it doesn't sit right with me indicting someone for something this old. Statute of limitations should be for situations like when a culprit evades prosecution or is only revealed long after the crime took place. You shouldn't be able to file charges against someone fifteen years after they assaulted you. A complaint should have to be filed withing a reasonable time frame, a few months as most, after a crime was committed, or after you realize that a crime was committed.

You can imagine times when it's reasonable to overlook a delay in filing charges, like when a child is molested by a guardian and is too afraid to speak out. But this does not fall into that category. The lady must have realized what happened when it happened, and it would have been on her to report it back then. Not now.

And if she did report it back then, it would have been up to law enforcement to investigate and prosecute. If they should have done so and didn't, she might have a beef with them for official misconduct. But she should no longer have a legal beef with the plant lover.

Lumping Tarantino in with Michael Bay really isn't a fair comparison. One just puts out garbage like Pulp Fiction and the other created masterpieces like Armageddon and The Rock

Shortly after Harvey Weinstein handed himself over to the NYPD to be arrested and arraigned for numerous allegations of sexual assaults, moments ago the disgraced former Hollywood exec was officially indicted by a grand jury on charges of rape in the first and third degrees, and criminal sexual act in the first degree.

Commenting on the indictment, Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance said that "this indictment brings the defendant another step closer to accountability for the crimes of violence with which he is now charged. Our office will try this case not in the press, but in the courtroom where it belongs."
Which is ironic because this is not the first time Cyrus Vance could have prosecuted Weinstein: in fact, as the New Yorker first reported last October, the NY DA previously had evidence of the Hollywood mogul's sexual advances, however, back then, the Manhattan District Attorney ultimately decided not to press charges, a move which many speculated was the result of Weinstein's political connections and/or large ssum of money exchanging hands behind the scenes.
“We had the evidence,” a source told the New Yorker, and yet Vance did nothing for obvious reasons.

This time, Vance did not have the luxury of not prosecuting and so the process which ends up with Weinstein, who has recently been liquidating much of his assets to pay for the mounting civil and criminal legal bills, serving time behind bars officially begins.
The full statement by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., on Weinstein's indicment is below:
"A Grand Jury has voted to indict Harvey Weinstein on charges of Rape in the First and Third Degrees, and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree.
"This indictment brings the defendant another step closer to accountability for the crimes of violence with which he is now charged. Our office will try this case not in the press, but in the courtroom where it belongs. The defendant's recent assault on the integrity of the survivors and the legal process is predictable. We are confident that when the jury hears the evidence, it will reject these attacks out of hand.
"I thank the heroic survivors for their strength throughout this process. I also thank Commissioner James O'Neill and members of the New York City Police Department for their dedication to this case. This investigation remains active and ongoing. We continue to urge additional survivors and others with relevant information to call us at 212-335-9373."

Already facing rape and criminal sex act charges and a potential 25-years behind bars, Harvey Weinstein today was hit with even heavier legal weight from the Manhattan D.A. – that could see him in jail for life.
“A Manhattan Grand Jury has now indicted Harvey Weinstein on some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York’s Penal Law,” said District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. today. “This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward. Our investigation continues. If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice. Please call us at 212-335-9373.”
Today’s announcement marks an additional count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree for a forcible sexual act against a third woman that allegedly occurred in 2006. Joining the two women identified in the previous indictment in late May, the new indictment also includes two counts of Predatory Sexual Assault.
The class A-11 felony predatory charge looms with a potential life or at least 10-25 years in prison for the disgraced producer.
