The hearing will be focused on Sessions' involvement in the Trump campaign and his meetings with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the US. Sessions comes out firing. Adamantly denies any meetings with Russians about elections, and has no knowledge of any Trump campaign members doing so.

Said it wasn't until after confirmation that a reporter asked generally about any interactions at all with Russians. Sessions says he gave details on all of his brief and routine meetings with many foreign government officials.

Reason for recusal: DOJ regulation required that Sessions recuse himself from any investigation related to a campaign where he served as adviser. He has not recused himself from anything else.

Sessions only remembered Comey talking to him about department protocols or communicating with the White House. Sessions agreed that all protocols should be followed. No other details or reasons or content of discussions with Trump were given by Comey.
