When do police ever publicize bombs and other artifacts used in crimes? They keep this stuff close to their chests for the trial. I don't think I have ever seen this much info released immediately.

It's because the obvious "target" of this stunt is not any Democrat; but rather the media audience.
Those "bombs" were not bombs at all and could not have harmed anyone. But they looked great for the cameras, and show unmistakable indications of being manufactured specifically for media coverage, the clock with no alarm being but one of the items that convicts on this point.
The folks who have been repeatedly making hoax claims against political opponents, so often that it can fairly be called standard practice, are the primary suspects. It would not be shocking to find that it did indeed come from the famously incompetent DWS, who obviously wouldn't be acting on her own.
Given that the whole point of the hoax was to put these scary-looking fake bombs in front of a media audience, they HAD to publish the photos. It was the very reason those devices were created, to create those photos, this is beyond reasonable dispute.
There’s no doubt it was fake, as none of them exploded, and probably couldn’t. There is also the joke sticker put on that one. “You know you’re a redneck...” ISIS style.
So this was a propaganda ploy. We will probably never know who did it, even if they “convict” someone. Various people might benefit, or might think they will benefit.
- Big winner: The security state. Without a doubt, this will result in more power and funding. Doesn’t mean that anyone in the security complex did it, just an inevitable side efffect of any attack, real or faked.
- Winner: The media. If nothing else, it gives them something to cover and pontificate on for weeks.
- Possible winner: The Democrats (including the media). If they can push this to demonize the right, it might help them in the upcoming election. The desperation makes this more likely. It’s a Hail Mary pass at the end of the game. If they don’t throw it, they lose. If they throw it, they might win.
- Possible winner: The GOP. The hysteria and finger-pointing from the left has long passed critical mass. Everyone but a hardcore leftist is sick of it. This may just push more people to the polls to vote against the hysterical left.
Who did it? If broken into two options, one being a leftist thinking it will help them, the other a right wing Pepe the Frog jokester, I’d give it a 75% chance of the former being guilty (left), 25% the latter (right).

I expect the Hail Mary pass to come on Nov 2 or 3. Enough time to play it up, not enough time to be exposed as yet another hoax.
I just want objectivity on this forum and will point out flawed sources or points of view at my leisure.
If the early voting lines are anything to go by, it’s too late for a Hail Mary. I’m considered a handicapped voter and I stood in line for nearly 30 minutes. I should have been bumped to the front of the line. I didn’t ask to be moved up, and it was okay. It was just a long wait because the line was long. Early voting has been gangbusters at all locations here.
