I don't like to speculate on things like that. Sorry, but I think that's where we get into trouble. We see things are not right and we begin to question... but then some of us go a step further and start speculating and developing our own narratives in our own minds. I find that unhelpful.

This didn't happen over night. What seems to be going on is very clever. It really is a great big cosmic joke. Are you laughing yet?
