Thread: I am starting a swear jar, please assist when you can

Exclamation I am starting a swear jar, please assist when you can

Well, I've just made a decision.

I'm going to, as much as I possibly can, cease swearing and cussing in both my personal life and posting life.

I intend to start a "swear jar" and pay the cussing fine each time I catch myself in real life, or you do, in a post.

I've never shied away from cursing like a sailor before. Everybody who knows me around here, knows that.

But now, just like tattoos, that used to make a powerful statement about who you were, f this and f that and f your mother and everything else is as commonplace and accepted as air, and therefore, as we rapidly choke on the rising tide of smut, they make no impact at all, other than increasingly sounding idiotic.

So, we'll see how it goes.

At the very least it will provide some mental exercise to come up with new biting modifiers and stinging descriptives.

I need to beef up the handgun locker...I find myself a little light supplied after arming some unprepared folks during this time of craziness.

I figure a pair of Ruger EC9s would do the trick nicely, without breaking the bank.

Normally I'm not a big fan of Ruger auto pistols, but I shot one of these the other day and was very impressed. The striker action trigger was smooth, the sights easy to acquire, the action reliable and easy to rack, the fit and finish good for the price and the whole weapon easily concealed with a manual safety for safe carry in half cock with a round in the pipe.

At an MSRP of roughly half of what makers like S and W and H and K and Sig are charging for similar weapons, it's a bargain.

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Cursewords are magic words. Whenever something isn't working for me, I start cursing. In many cases things then work. Like I said, magic words.
