I bought some shot shells and clay targets on sale. I don't think it was specifically for veterans day though. Took the missus' grandkid out to shoot. 11 yrs. old. He is spot on with a .22 Remington semi-auto and scope. He got to fire a friends .22 AR style and did fair with that. Claimed the scope was off so I tried it and can confirm. Friend needs to sight it in. Handled the .38 revolver well, too. I even let him shoot my 12 ga. semi-auto. with target loads only. Then we all started a fire and cooked hot dogs over it. As good a veterans day as I could have hoped for.

I did not serve my country but I did take advantage of a Kohls Vet Day coupon on Friday. I bought the both the boys a Sonicare toothbrush and after coupons and rebates, they cost 4.50 each. I plan on giving them to them for Christmas. Yes, they're very lucky boys getting a toothbrush for Christmas. I also plan on spoiling them with some underwear, socks, and deodorant.

Personally, I'm not a fan of electric toothbrushes. Mostly, because I can't find one with a firm head. I don't care what 4 out of 5 dentists recommend, my teeth just don't feel clean when I brush with a soft head. I must not be alone because firm toothbrushes are getting hard to find. When I see them, I buy all they have.

I doubt it. They just want their money but I hide it in other stuff so I get the pleasure of watching them dig through all the lame crap looking for it. I think I'm going to wrap the toothbrushes in big boxes like they're something cool since I have to cut up the ones they came in to get my rebate.

I bought him a BB gun three years ago but have had to keep it here at the house. His mother is a liberal and hates guns. This was his first time with real guns as his mother is getting a divorce from his father and she is no longer in charge of everything all the time. She has lost her say in what happens when his daddy brings him to visit. He is a natural at 11 yrs. old. I taught him the rules of gun safety when I got him the BB gun and he recited them correctly after all this time. Not only that but he practices them. Being 11 he particularly likes my rule "Keep your booger hook of the trigger until you are ready to fire."

I didn't forget the beers Saturday, so vets day was great. All by myself, but fiscally floatable and 2 easy jobs. Thanks for making all that happen @oyarde.

Yeah but we have not really yet decided if that should count .Until judgement is in we still expect Danke to be polite and thank us real Veterans and those senior to him for his freedoms .

Also , since all of the Feminazis left long ago , the mods unlocking the Girls with chainsaws thread would be nice . If one of you could be so kind as to send this request for me to the proper RPF agency .

Its seemed like "veterans day" turned into "veterans week" this year. I got sick and tired of the MIC indoctrination they wanted to push onto my spawn, every single day had some solider stuff tacked onto it. I kept him home from an unrelated extracurricular event last night because at the last minute they took what was supposed to be a fun party and added making signs and cards for soldiers for the first hour of the "party". I felt he had enough of it for the week, so we went out and did something else fun.

Although , Veterans Week would be OK for the three day sale they had at Menards , that would have given me time to actually get there . Pretty busy this time of year .

And at the school too, they had veterans events taking up 2 days of the week. In an atmosphere where kids get in trouble for making a "gun" out of their hand or talking about shooting or hell even a kindergartener pretending to have a harpoon (seriously, this happened to us) they spend whole days celebrating soldiers and trying to make it sound like something cool with singing songs and a color guard demonstrating. What kind mixed message is that? Are they supposed pretend that the soliders were over there bringing puppies and kittens to our "enemies"?

They're suppose to pretend they're bring freedom to our enemies and bringing some extra back home for us so the whole world can be super duper free.

The marines and navy also have airmen, so I'm pretty sure danke should qualify, uncle oyarde... (if you read the marine hymn, they're even less humble about it )

My dad was a flight navigator in the Marines. F-4H was his main gig. Started out as a radio specialist in WWII. By Korea, he was in planes, where he finished off during Vietnam.

    Thanks to all.

Air Force is un-Constitutional. Fed. Gov. only has granted authority to maintain a Navy. Marines are an independent branch of the Dept. of the Navy. The Constitution grants the authority to raise and support an Army for a period of not more than two years. U.S. Army Air Corp was a part of the Constitutionally raised and supported Army for the Constitutionally declared of War against Germany and Japan.

How is the regime supposed to bomb asprin factories and villages and civilian cities without an air force?

Declaration of war and re-institute an Army Air Corp. Or just use the Navy. They have better pilots. Except for McCain, but his daddy got him in a pilot seat, so he doesn't count.

    These countries aren't so dumb.

They know that the quickest way to lose a war is to create an air force.
