Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

* See my visitor message area for caveats related to my posting history here.
* Also, I have effectively retired from all social media including posting here and are basically opting out of anything to do with national politics or this country on federal or state level and rather focusing locally. I may stop by from time to time to discuss philosophy on a general level related to Libertarian schools of thought and application in the real world.
Private company that has become a "state actor" under 42 USC 1983 by collaborating with Resident (Evil) Biden on what to censor.

And a private company that is in violation of antitrust laws by collaborating with Facebook and Twitter on what to censor.
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=facebook+t...berrypi&ia=web
And yes, we need to be re-conditioning ourselves to use free and open alternatives. That YouTube habit is just so hard to break.
That said, it's time for lawsuits with real teeth in them against the government collaboration on censorship and the antitrust violations. Even those against antitrust lawsuits should be willing to go with the 42 USC 1983 violation lawsuit.

She's definitely against the mandates to the point that she's bothered by the fact that some people seem to be caving into them.

I thought the FSP failed because there was no way to keep out Massholes and other liberal parasites who saw a good thing and couldn't help but ruin it.
That's gonna be the issue with secession. Even if you do successfully break away and create a free state (or country), how would one hope to maintain it (without using at least some degree of force)?

Under any given set of circumstances, either there will be enough people who do that, or there won't be.
And as for the FSP, they are still around, and whether they achieved their originally stated objective or not, they are at least as responsible for things like the following as anyone else:

the problem is the similarity in the ways people tend to think and the ease with which they go along with each other and the lack of interest in naturally challenging the status quo in all things, you see your friend doing the same thing day in and day out, challenge it, you see your parents doing the same thing over and over for a decade, question them.
honestly whatever you do to these companies its just going to be like scattering cockroaches, they will come back organically and then the new entity representing a collective go along to get alongers will seek to make everyone else the same because thats how it secures itself, to me libertarian ideas has always been about the courage to challenge how people think, including myself and don't brain rot just because i have a comfortable job or authority.
obviously i would rather be challenged by a close associate or partner than random stranger on the street because my rebellious streak will go, who the heck are you, there is some privilege to be had being in a position to challenge other people as well you know, because tearing people down is only one step of the process, in some ways you have to stay for the rebuild. so in essence that is my two cents, i feel like too many people don't see these companies as simply the reflection of how people carry themselves.
