Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says players who "disrespect the flag," won't take the field.

Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones: Players Cannot Disrespect Flag
Two weeks ago he locked arms and knelt with his players before the national anthem, then stood with them as it played. Now, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says players who "disrespect the flag," won't take the field.
"...If there is anything that is disrespectful to the flag then we will not play," Jones said Sunday night, according to The Dallas Morning News. "You understand? If we are disrespecting the flag then we won't play. Period." Jones did not specify what he meant by disrespect.
The players' union responded on Monday, with executive director DeMaurice Smith saying Jones' comments contradicted those of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
"I look forward to the day when everyone in management can unite and truly embrace and articulate what the flag stands for, liberty and justice for all, instead of some of them just talking about standing. We look forward to continuing our talks with them on this very issue."

The drama in professional wrestling is put on that is why people laugh at them. This would be real drama if it produces one. The two are not comparable.

Owners should have been bright enough to nip this in the bud . Target audience is not going to like it so you tell your highly pd employees how they will present themselves . Pc. of cake .

Jerry Jones Bans Kneeling. (Dallas hasn't had any players who knelt during the anthem though a couple have raised fists).

It is kind of unbelievable a guy like that would not have a clue how little the teams fans would think of it but obviously he had no clue .

Its the Cowboys, one wouldn't think the fans would be the tail that wags the dog. But e gave it a try and decided it is costing him money. Nothing wrong with one changing their mind. My only problem is when they deny that they are indeed changing/changed their mind like Trump did with his support for wars in MENA.

And yes, I use every opportunity I get to bash Trump

That kneeling took place before the anthem. It's not so much the fact that they are taking time to kneel for their "cause" so much as doing it during the anthem that made the owner mad.

They were kneeling to protest what Trump said and then Jones turns around and does exactly what Trump said teams should do.

With this and things like Harvey Weinstein ouster, Trump/allies seem to be making some interesting plays.

I think in religion kneeling is considered more reverent than standing. Government should consider legislation that mandated that when the National Anthem begins people must kneel and bow their head.
