Trump admin plans to block asylum seekers from U.S. by citing risk of COVID-19

The Trump administration has proposed a new rule that would allow it to deny asylum to immigrants who are deemed a public health risk.

The soon-to-be published rule would let the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to block immigrants from seeking asylum in the U.S. based on "potential international threats from the spread of pandemics," according to a notice announcing it Wednesday.

The rule would apply to immigrants seeking asylum and those seeking "withholding of removal" — a protected immigration status for those who have shown they may well face danger if returned to their home countries.

The determination of whether migrants pose a public health risk would be made at the "credible fear" screening — essentially the first interview of the application process to determine an immigrant has a credible fear of returning to their home country — not in immigration court.

POTUS is planning to consider the possibility that he will perhaps examine proposing a rule?

Right, right. Carry on with your personal delusion that the Overton Window is not being moved squarely into communism. Things that weren't politically possible before? Indeed, that is true. The next UBI check will be on the way soon.

MUMBAI: The US has approved a higher number of H-1B applications (both for initial visas and visa extensions for continued employment) this year, showing that the demand for these work visas continues unabated. This is a relief to Indians, who are the dominant holders of H-1B visas, especially after processing regulations got more stringent post-2015 .

Trump said he was nominating Rao for the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit — sometimes referred to as the nation’s second-highest court.

Btw, nikcers, you and some others around here are definitely going to go down in history one day; some RPF members and "republicans" in general who actually supported a NY LIB - not once, but TWICE.

Bull$#@! you keep saying this but my posts on here clearly show i didnt support Trump until he got elected and after he did several things that wouldnt of happened with a democrat. He didnt get the Tax cuts to be permanent but thats because the liberals hacked the house election. He got people out of jail and helped get them working again. Im sure you would rather of had Clinton or would rather have Biden but i would rather have conservative judges than liberal judges. The stimulus checks Trump did were basically tax cuts that were paid for with the record high economy pre covid that had everyone paying more in taxes because they made more.

Its just soft support for the democrat candidate. It would be one thing if it was the Republican primaries and we had someone like Rand Paul running.

It's similar with me, I was distrustful of Trump and didn't vote for him last time but he exceeded my expectations and is the best POTUS since Coolidge.

It's funny how they give Trump "credit" for bad things he said while he was doing business in NYC and Hollywood but they don't give him any credit for good things he says while in office that he is prevented from doing or just hasn't done yet.

Swordy, you know full well that I do not support Fascism / forced vaccination. You are just trying to attempt another weak smear ;-)

$1.6 BILLION to Novovax… what do ya think of that? Fauci, Slaoui, and Moderna weren't enough for CIC?

    Ok, I'll be fair.

I do not condone government involvement in any business. Likewise, I do not condone business involvement in government either. When these things happen, Fascism results.

Which is why CIC should not be funding public/private ventures.

Government has NO business in healthcare.

But, I remember Trump speaking about the "republican" version of healthcare would be better than Obama's Romney-Care, and, Medicare For All Nancy Get It Done!

This is Warp Speed beyond what Obamacare was.

You are the one who tried to smear me by cutting off the sarcasm tag, I gave you the option of admitting that deceit or of possibly understanding it was sarcasm and opposing a government ban on corporate enforced vaccination, I didn't say which for sure.

Like I said, I do not condone government bans on anything, even if you do. What I object to is this administration passing out tax payer money for public/private Fascist ventures, as I noted before.

Had Trump not started Operation Warp Speed, and not hired Slaoui (Gate's stooge) to head it, gave billions to Moderna and Novovax, we most probably would not even be at this juncture.

The first step in solving a problem is admitting that there is one. The second step is taking responsibility. Then the third step would be easy.

Btw, Trump is a NY LIB, just for your FYI.

So you are telling me that if Trump/Administration/Fed did not do any of those things, we would still be exactly where we are?

This thread talks about bans [blocks], and covid-19, but if you want to take it elsewhere just post your response in an appropriate thread.
