Reports were saying some good news that hopefully two big structures could be saved, then watched POTUS announce to the world something like "looks like whole place will be burnt to the ground". Perhaps he should exercise some pause and err on the side of caution instead of going with the worst case scenario as if there was some race to break a major news before anyone else... from President's bully pulpit of all places. Bypassing MSM with losing credibility is great but no need to compete with them and rush to broadcast news that may turn out to be false.

    Or a black Christian Church.
No single group is suspected in every case, and locale probably plays a bigger role in determing most likely suspects.
For example, in Iraq most likely suspects in a Church attack in recent years have been Islamic extremists.
In Palestine, most likely suspects in a Church attack in recent years have been Jewish extremists.

In 1882, construction of Sagrada Família started under architect Francisco de Paula del Villar. In 1883, when Villar resigned,[7] Gaudí took over as chief architect, transforming the project with his architectural and engineering style, combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. Gaudí devoted the remainder of his life to the project, and he is buried in the crypt. At the time of his death at age 73 in 1926, when he was run down by a tram, less than a quarter of the project was complete.[11]

Relying solely on private donations, Sagrada Familia's construction progressed slowly and was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War. In July 1936, revolutionaries set fire to the crypt and broke their way into the workshop, partially destroying Gaudí's original plans, drawings and plaster models, which led to 16 years work to piece together the fragments of the master model.[12] Construction resumed to intermittent progress in the 1950s. Advancements in technologies such as computer aided design and computerised numerical control (CNC) have since enabled faster progress and construction past the midpoint in 2010. However, some of the project's greatest challenges remain, including the construction of ten more spires, each symbolising an important Biblical figure in the New Testament.[11] It is anticipated that the building can be completed by 2026—the centenary of Gaudí's death.

Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque Fire Burns at the Same Time as Flames Engulf Notre Dame Cathedral i

    4/15/19

A fire broke out at the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem just as flames ravaged the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Footage showing smoke and fire emerging from the roof of a structure known as the Marwani Prayer Room, or Solomon's Stables, could be seen on social media. The Palestine News Agency, the official outlet of the Palestinian National Authority, cited a guard as saying Monday that "the fire broke out in the guard's room outside the roof of the Marwani Prayer Room, and the fire brigade of the Islamic Waqf handled the matter successfully."

News of the incident at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam and central to the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict, was largely overshadowed by a much larger blaze engulfing the Notre Dame Cathedral at the same time.

Had not seen this reported in MSM TV media but won't be surprising given recent trends there.

53 Mosques and Churches Vandalized in Israel Since 2009, but Only 9 Indictments Filed

The many unsolved crimes are a question of police priorities, says head of monitoring group. 'Without a doubt, they aren’t looking hard enough'

St. Stephen's Church at the Beit Jimal Monastery near Beit Shemesh.Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Over 50 Christian and Muslim sites have been vandalized in Israel and the West Bank since 2009, but only nine indictments have been filed and only seven convictions handed down, according to Public Security Ministry data. Moreover, only eight of the 53 cases are still under investigation, with the other 45 all closed.
The ministry data only goes through July 2017, but the vandalism hasn’t ended.
The latest attack occurred last Wednesday, at St. Stephen’s Church in the Beit Jamal Monastery, near Beit Shemesh. Many items were broken, including some of the stained glass windows and a status of the Virgin Mary. Police are investigating, but so far no suspects have been arrested and the motive is said to be unknown.

Somehow I disbelieve there would be some kind of accidental fire at the construction site of a landmark building that wasn't put out immediately.

Just saying that I could see an oil based product (linseed oil) being used in the renovation and rags being improperly disposed of. A temporary worker or new hire without construction knowledge would not know this. Nor would a security detail.

They shouldn't be keeping the facts a secret.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-...ched-every-day

In France, two churches are desecrated every day on average. According to PI-News, a German news site, 1,063 attacks on Christian churches or symbols (crucifixes, icons, statues) were registered in France in 2018. This represents a 17% increase compared to the previous year (2017), when 878 attacks were registered— meaning that such attacks are only going from bad to worse.

Among some of the recent desecrations in France, the following took place in just February and March:

Vandals plundered Notre-Dame des Enfants Church in Nîmes and used human excrement to draw a cross there; consecrated bread was found thrown outside among garbage.

The Saint-Nicolas Church in Houilles was vandalized on three separate occasions in February; a 19th century statue of the Virgin Mary, regarded as "irreparable," was "completely pulverized," said a clergyman; and a hanging cross was thrown to the floor.

Vandals desecrated and smashed crosses and statues at Saint-Alain Cathedral in Lavaur, and mangled the arms of a statue of a crucified Christ in a mocking manner. In addition, an altar cloth was burned.

Arsonists torched the Church of St. Sulpice in Paris soon after midday mass on Sunday, March 17.

Similar reports are coming out of Germany. Four separate churches were vandalized and/or torched in March alone. "In this country," PI-News explained, "there is a creeping war against everything that symbolizes Christianity: attacks on mountain-summit crosses, on sacred statues by the wayside, on churches... and recently also on cemeteries."...

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-...ched-every-day
    Feb 12, 2019:
French Church Is Ninth in Eleven Days Vandalised Across the Country

A French church in the commune of Maisons-Laffitte was vandalised over the weekend and has become the ninth church to be desecrated across France in the last 11 days.

The attack, which targeted the Saint Nicolas Roman Catholic church, saw the tabernacle of the church overthrown and vandalised and is not the first church in the area to be vandalised in recent weeks, according to local prefect Jean-Jacques Brot, Le Parisien reports.

Mr Brot commented on the incident saying, “This vandalism is part of a sensitive and distressing context and the church of Saint-Nicolas de Houilles also suffered damage three times last week,” and went on to add, “It is an attack on the freedom of worship because they are attacking what is the heart of belief.”

Lots of sheep are bleating for NotreDame, but when it comes to churches in other countries (either where “barbaric” slavs or “muzzies” live) there is silence.

Just a few days ago the Uniate schismatics loved by Élysée torched an Orthodox Church.

Notice how the Frog government was immediate in declaring it accidental, which almost guarantees that it was not. Even if the evidence of an attack is overwhelming, will they state the truth, or stick to the "accident" line of $#@!? My money is bending toward the latter.

While not yet conclusively so, it tentatively appears that the French have been slapped in the face most egregiously. It will be interesting to see whether they have the basic sense to kill every Muslim in the land, or deport them. Either solution works for me, though the former is perhaps more just and practically sensible.

I do not see how Islam can be tolerated. I see no future where the world coexists peaceably with them, which places the same choice before every non-Muslim on the planet: kill them or be consumed. I do not believe we as a species have the stomach to do what is needed. Therefore, the Muslim will conquer, we will take it up the butt, and that will be that.

It didn't. To accept this possibility is to accept that an edifice that has stood safly for 800 years and through two horrific industrialized wars fell victim to a crew that somehow failed to learn the lessons of all their predecessors? When I was in training, the hazards of oily rags was drilled into me. Nobody in the trades disregards this.

    This possibility, isn't.

Given that fires in buildings under construction is not hardly unheard of, and given that the Roman Catholic Church was not coming up with the money it needed to give that structure the extensive renovations it needed (and that's a pretty ruthless entity), and given that Mossad (an even more ruthless entity) might have had reasons to distract us from a certain burning mosque, don't you think it's a bit premature (at the very least) to call for genocide of one of the largest demographics on the planet?

Why use that as an excuse? Why not just say you're curious to see how much of the Book of Revelation is true?

Sounds like unnamed "officials" bungled the chance to contain the fire.

    04.16.19 8:50 AM ET
PARIS—An alarm was raised at Notre Dame at 6:20 p.m. on Monday night—23 minutes before the structure was engulfed in flames—but officials found no sign of a fire.

Firefighters who responded to a second alert raced to the scene but were unable to tame an inferno that ripped through the 12th century cathedral for the next 9 hours…

... Paris public prosecutor Rémy Heitz“What we know at this stage is that there was an initial alarm at 6:20 p.m., followed by a procedure to verify this but no fire as found,” Heitz explained. “Then, there was a second alarm at 6:43 p.m. and at that point a fire was detected in the structure.”

“The investigation is going to be long and complex,” he added. “We are in the process of interviewing witnesses.”...

Conspiracy Theorists Blame Jews, Muslims For Notre Dame Fire

April 15, 2019 By Aiden Pink

    Pierre Suu/Getty Images
A firefighter is seen fighting the flames at Notre-Dame Cathedral April 15, 2019 in Paris, France.

As the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris became engulfed in fire on Monday, conspiracy theorists quickly got to work - blaming the blaze on Jews.
French police quickly said they were treating the fire as an accident, possibly linked to the church’s renovation work. But despite - or perhaps because of - that statement, online bigots quickly got to work. Many pointed a finger at the Rothschilds, the banking dynasty of Jewish heritage who have been central to anti-Semitic conspiracies for century. French President Emanuel Macron once worked at a Rothschild-owned bank. Others tried to link the incident to other church fires that had occurred throughout the country in recent weeks.

Although yellow vest protests have produced some stunning fiery images, there is a huge difference between a crowd starting some flame on a road protest against police vs at such an important historic landmark site.
