I hate to generalize but wow, now I see why the term libtard came about. I decided to create a Huffpost account because the comment section on that website makes me want to puke. I figured I would post there, as here I feel like I am just preaching to the choir. Check out this conversation following an article about Bradley Manning. How do we win against this stupidity?!

It really doesn't matter if the information was valuable or not. It could have been recipes but if classified he broke the law and thus should be punished. In my book he is a traitor simply because he violated his clearance and released information that was classified.

In your book he is a traitor, but in REALITY he is a hero and true patriot. You know he took an oath to defend the Constitution and that is exactly what he did by exposing the truth.

Prominence, there is a vast difference in defending the Constitution and 'maligning it'. Manning has 'turned on the very citizens of the U.S., not just the mititary. He has violated a sacred trust, including yours, and you defend him. There is just no accounting for total ignorance.

William, what you have to remember is that folks like Prominence are smarter than the rest of us. They have to show us that we're their inferiors and one of the best ways to do that is to let us know that everything we believe it, everything we're part of, amounts to nothing as far as they're concerned. It's arrogance, narcissim and a sense of superiority that forces them to say things like that - jsut so you and I know our places.

I realize this and I feel that I still will need to respond to this arrogance that seems to have run rampant about the 'heroes'. I know my place, and I'm sure that you know yours - it ISN'T the place of 'Prominence' and/or his/her supporters. Thank God For That. But I will continue to respond to these people with truth, not their misguided and malicious interpretations of such. But thank you for your reponse. It's always nice to hear from honest and sane individuals.

I do not agree with your view and simply stated why. But yes lets resort to personal attacks since I apparently do not know my place.

You say Manning turned on U.S. citizens when it is the government that has turned on its citizens ala NDAA and declaring our nation a battlefield where we are all suspects and spied on. What happened to our god given inalienable rights as human beings codified in our Constitution?

Live on in your ignorance, Prominence, Assange, Manning, and Snowden, and most of South America love you for it. I bet you would receive a heroe's welcome in Venezuela!

Ignorance is a state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge). In ignorance is where many Americans were living before people like Assange, Manning, and Snowden contributed to the exact opposite, which is truth. “In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” George Orwell.
I am done posting there my head hurts.
