I just heard from Jeremy who is our Meetup treasurer. We are still $400 short. I had asked him when the buy actually needs to happen and mentioned that the chipin date was Nov. 10. He told me they put the wrong date on it, and we actually have until the end of the month.

So we still need help...

Yes. I haven't heard from the meetup organizer today, but I imagine he has gone ahead with the billboard buy using his own funds (perhaps on credit) hoping that more money will come in.

I don't know who set up this chipin - it hasn't been promoted on the group. We have been sending money directly to the organizer. But as of the beginning of this week we were way short of the total needed.
