Okay this idea stemmed from someone in another thread pertaining to how much the "definitions" have changed over the years, and what that means in regards to the Constitution.
The original thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthr...=1#post2584263 Osan has prepared the constitution breaking it up into numbered lines. We need volunteers to take a line or lines to look up the definition of each word and rewrite that line. the two sites we have so far to translate words into their old definitions are: http://machaut.uchicago.edu/websters http://www.archive.org/details/dicti...engl01johnuoft http://www.archive.org/details/dicti...engl02johnuoft anyone else who finds links to dictionaries from before 1930 please post them here this is a super easy project all you have to do is volunteer to rewrite at least one sentence. If you are willing to help please email therealconstitution@gmail.com and you will be mailed a sentence to translate, once you are finished you can just email back the translated sentence. once it is complete we can decide where to go from there. The options I was thinking of were: a) make it into a pocket constitution and hand it out b) make it into a website so people can read it c) simple paper handouts .... anyone else have ideas?

1930 is a little late.
Try 1830. It sounds interesting. As long as the definitions are placed in the body and not just as citations. People won't read them if they are seperate. |
