Default 2010 Convention Cycle festivities begin!

Our District Chairmen have selected their people for the various Committees.

BJ and I will be on the Platform Committee...I'll add names when I get a list and see if there are any other "friendlies."

Start working on your Resolutions and any Party Plan of Organization and Platform changes...

Some counties have had their Ex Com meetings, some have not.

The next deadline is making sure you are registered Republican by the end of Jan 2010 if you want to take part in the State Convention cycle.

The 2010 State Convention will be June 4-6, in Winston-Salem.

I stepped down as the NC State Coordinator officially yesterday. No hard feelings, but with the opportunity to move up in the GOP, possibly to the District Chair position next spring, I decided to hand over the job to another hard working person.

NOW, the games begin. I have the complete and 100% support of my district chair and I have learned a lot from her. She has broken the mold and created a place for herself within the state as an innovative leader. Things should get real interesting......

You guys know that I will stay true to my principles, I will not campaign for Burr and I will not raise money for him. You will not hear me say that I support him. I will keep silent, for now. When the time is right, when we hold more positions, it will be easier to speak out.

But we need more people to show up to the conventions this year. We need more people voting NO when it is time and to vote YES when it is time. It is an off year for our conventions, no one will be elected to any positions, unless there is a vacancy, so it is possible that the total number of convention attendees will be down (we thought that last year and we had the largest convention in years ) We need to show them that we have not only NOT gone away, but that we have grown in numbers.

The best politician is one who is afraid of you, the same goes for our political party officers.

Plus the conventions are a good opportunity to see old friends and meet new ones--I highly recommend that you consider attending this year
