Congressional district conventions are today all over Missouri. The party changed the Call to Convention with a new agenda that would let them challenge delegates for any reasons and get away with it. Election of chairman and secretary have been moved way down on the new agenda.
In a rush to leave here.... If anyone knows any MO delegates please call and inform them. Most of us are going in with no idea that this happened.

As of this morning 4/19/08 they still have not posted the new schedule of events .
Shameful. Please bring a copy of the rules with you to circumvent this.

How can they just change things like that? Do they have that legal right?

Since the GOP is a private organization it can probably change any rules it wants without warning, and there isn't a "legal" violation. At most, perhaps you could sue them to get your party donations returned in civil court.
However the foul stench of cronyism is not helpful to drawing new membership. These tools are just giving more ammo to their critics in future conventions, and making the party look bad in comparison to the competition. |
