Thanks to AAAAANDRE on the Daily Paul forum for finding this one.
NEW IN WND Start your week with Ron Paul – only here! Congressman joins commentary lineup with 'Texas Straight Talk' column Posted: March 16, 2008 ![]() Rep. Ron Paul Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, the presidential candidate who shocked the nation by garnering surprisingly loyal and enthusiastic support in the Republican race, joins WND's commentary lineup today with a column available exclusively at WorldNetDaily each Monday morning. While Paul's weekly verbal volley, which he calls "Texas Straight Talk," becomes available elsewhere later on, WND is the only place to go first thing Monday mornings to read his latest column. Kick start your week with a healthy dose of the congressman's thoughts on liberty, the Constitution and the proper role of government. Paul's campaign for the Republican nomination for president, which he says he is "winding down" but is far from over, caught political observers flatfooted. Few predicted the "Ron Paul Revolution" would attract such fiercely loyal support from Americans across the land – not the least of whom was Paul himself. "A lot more has come of this campaign than I ever dreamed," Paul told CNN last week. "I didn't think it would last this long or energize so many or raise so much money, so we're really excited about what's going on." Noted Paul: "If you're in a campaign for only gaining power, that is one thing. If you're in a campaign to influence ideas and the future of the country, the campaign is never over. … The true revolution is ongoing." Paul says Republicans still need to have a conservative to vote for in the remaining primaries. As far as John McCain's candidacy, Paul indicates he likely won't support him in the general election. "He doesn't represent anything I've talked about for 30 years," Paul said. Paul's presidential campaign has been largely Internet-driven, raising over $32 million, much of it in small increments from supporters who gave via the Net. A medical doctor by profession, Paul has earned the nickname "Dr. No" for his refusal to vote for any legislation in the House of Representatives that is not expressly authorized by the Constitution. Paul, originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., moved to Texas in 1968 to practice obstetrics and has delivered over 4,000 babies during his practice. In the late '70s and early '80s, Paul served his first stint in Congress, advocating for sound monetary policy and serving as an outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve's inflationary measures. He also was a key member of the Gold Commission, pushing for a return to a gold standard for U.S. currency. Paul left Congress voluntarily in 1984, returning to his medical practice. In 1997, Paul returned to Capitol Hill, representing Texas' 14th District. In 1988, though still a Republican, Paul ran as the Libertarian Party's candidate for president. Paul is the author of several books, including "Challenge to Liberty," "The Case for Gold" and "A Republic, If You Can Keep It." He has been a distinguished counselor to the Ludwig von Mises Institute and is widely quoted by scholars and writers in the fields of monetary policy, banking and political economy. Paul has received many awards during his career in Congress from organizations such as the National Taxpayers Union, Citizens Against Government Waste, the Council for a Competitive Economy, Young Americans for Freedom and others. Married to wife Carol for over 50 years, Paul reside in Lake Jackson, Texas. The Pauls are the parents of five children and have 17 grandchildren. Read Ron Paul's first WorldNetDaily column, "The crumbling U.S. empire."

No way , WND wants the Ron Paul traffic after the bastard went out of his way to make sure Paul could not be taken seriously as a candidate. Maybe it is good news in that Paul can re-educate some of the brain dead neocon's that go to that site. As for me, I won't forget, nor will I go to his site.

They are just trying to make him look like he'd another neocon. WND is fully aware that they have a bad rep as an extreme right wing publication. It's used against candidates, rarely for them. |
