I'd say Silver, but then again I'm a kooky Ron Paul Fringe, unelectable, FU Frank, Hannity chasing, F the MSM supporter. Of course you could not take my word for it and check it out yourself:

The System will have a last gasp. Buy stocks now while they're cheap, wait for the Last Gasp Rally when gold is cheaper, and do the switch then. Don't stick with the herd--its a losing game.

Seriously, people when and if you get those rebate checks from the government, do not pay down your debt. Normally that would be wise, yet when the government is giving people handouts of cash, an alarm should go off!

Buy food, canned food and rice, and beans.

Anyone else, notice how quicly food is going up in price this year? You can trade food for anything when the system collapses.

Hey Ghemminger - personally silver hasn't jumped recently and may be a good buy...gold is volatile, but this is just investment advice...for survival - can't go wrong with canadian gold and silver coins safely hidden away somewhere...

Keep both silver and gold bullion. The ratio is disputed, and for better advice try the forums at www.kitco.com. But please, be careful with where and how you store it. I had several thousand dollars worth of bullion stolen from me last week.

food (freeze dried), water, camping/survivalist gear, guns and ammunition, silver, then gold.

Thought I'd definitely keep cash on hand, since no one (except the globalist elite) knows when the whole thing will come crashing down.

Food is definitely the best. If you need silver or gold for something, you can just sell some of your food. Or just skip the selling of the food and trade the food for what you needed the silver or gold to buy.

It all depends on if the government is trying to get some money out of you. (can't pay them with food)

Lots of threads already answer this. Search is your friend.

I prefer gold bullion -- either as coins or as vaulted gold. Agricultural commodities also look good, as do stocks and bonds in certain overseas locations (mainly Australia, NZ and Canada).

Get out of US dollars. Buy currencies of commodity-based economies (same countries as above).

Real estate is likely to be in decline for another 10 yrs, so preserve your equity by selling your house and moving into a rental.

I don't like silver or platinum because they're industrial metals, and aren't likely to do as well as gold in a recession.

Similarly, US stocks are now in a bear market. They will go a lot lower before they go a lot higher. Bonds are now in a mini-bubble, which could burst badly at any time.

Thanks Ace - I've thought of expatriating to NZ any thoughts?

Toilet paper man because in two years it will be worthless but we will still need to wipe our rears.

I like silver in 1oz increments. Anything bigger and you might have a problem with it being liquidable and it's less suitable for bartering. Here are my favorite examples:
    http://www.apmex.com/Product/30111/2...irculated.aspx
    http://www.apmex.com/Product/16485/1...ver_Coins.aspx

Guns and ammo are indispensable. The time will come when these will demand a very high price tag. I think they'll prove to be very wise investments, both in terms of personal security, and as means of trade/barter.

A good food supply that will last if times ever get really hard:
http://efoodsdirect.com/ (there are others out there too that very well may be better, this is just an example)

    Water: http://www.berkeywater.com/start.main.html

And a nice supply of toilet tissue, toothpaste, soaps, etc.

Thats what I'd trade my federal reserve notes for.

Moving to NZ is the best thing I ever did for myself and my family. Highly recommended, for dozens of reasons.

I love the US, but once you get out, how crazy things are there becomes much more clear.

If you're serious about wanting to move, keep in mind that NZ only accepts a relatively small number of immigrants every year. When things heat up in the US and the number of applications increases, it could easily become almost impossible to get in (it's already not easy). Better to be too early than too late.

Over the last several years I've found time to study the American Revolution. I always wondered what it must have been like to be a soldier and to live and breath that history and to be a part of a cause that would be lionized for many generations to come. Then I realized that those soldiers at the time probably did not comprehend the magnitude that their actions were having just like many of us don't realize the magnitude that our actions are having today.

It was only in the past several months that I realized we might need a modern day American Revolution to right some of the wrongs we've made over the last hundred years. The new world order is just that: the new world order. It's going to spread to some places sooner than others but they ultimately plan to control everything. I believe this movement in the US is the frontline in the fight against the new world order and is the place where freedom will prevail or perish. And I intend to be a good soldier.
