Arizona State University AZ GOP Primary
    John McCain 41%
    Mitt Romney 18%
    Fred Thompson 9%*
    Mike Huckabee 7%
    Rudy Giuliani 4%
    Ron Paul 3%
The Cronkite/Eight poll asked 375 Republicans which presidential candidate they were supporting or leaning toward. The poll had a sampling error of plus or minus 5 percentage points among Republicans. Poll conducted between 1/17 and 1/20

About one in five voters remains undecided, the poll said.

McCain's lead represents a sharp rebound from a statewide poll last fall that put him behind former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. The new poll also suggests that voters are supporting McCain despite the strong distrust of him by many core GOP conservatives in the state and the nation.

"This political train-wreck Republicans face can largely be traced to Bush’s philosophical metamorphosis from a traditional, non-interventionist conservative to the neoconservatives’ exemplar of a 'War President', and his positioning of the Republicans as the 'War Party'."

Nicholas Sanchez on Bush's legacy, September 30, 2007.

A government is just a body of people, notably, usually, ungoverned.
