Thread: RonPaul.com is for sale!

  1. #31
I am almost positive his reserve is over $50,000. And it's not a squatter. The guys name is Ron Paul and he has been using it.

I'm sure it gets huge traffic spikes at times. But after super Tuesday it will either be worth a lot or not much.

For that reason I don't think it will go as high as he wants. Someone should inquire about leasing it if it doesn't sell.

he was asking 50k in July.. And 150k in december.

Best part is, unless the new owner is named ron paul, or creates something totally unrelated to the candidate, he will be a squatter and if HQ pursues it, will have to relinquish the domain and give it to the campaign. Lolz.

Interesting....so you can be a squatter even if you buy it for more than the market value, I assume?

It's really not worth that much - in terms of dollars. One word nouns go for huge amounts, but even they don't get what they used to because type-in traffic makes up a much smaller % of hits in the Google era.

Campaign should offer $5000 for it - take it or leave it. Beyond that, anyone who buys it will be subject to cyber-squatting laws and be forced to give it up.

My firm posted the auction for my friend/client Ron Paul, and it is totally real. If you do your due diligence, you can quickly verify that this is the case and that I am a reputable business person. This was my first eBay posting, thus no feedback score. This is also the first time that the domain name has been put up for auction.

Also, I would never bid on an auction that I setup, that would be against the rules. When the reserve gets met, you will all see that the reserve is pretty reasonable, not as high as most folks here are guessing.

I'd like to thank all of you who have been supportive during this process.

Save your money. The campaign has already promoted the hell out of ronpaul2008.com While having ronpaul.com would be cool, at this point it doesn't matter, honestly. Anybody who's political who knows how to use the web will eventually find ronpaul2008.com in like 5 seconds.

You're very wrong about that. No offense, but working for a company who bought 2 domains doesn't make you an expert. But, thanks for mentioning your evidence.

    What a totally ridiculous statement..

    http://dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

I have sold names for over $40,000.. And as you can see in the weekly domain sale chart there, they are worth alot more because worth is defined by what people are willing to pay for it..

I find the owner of this domain name's behavior despicable. The founders pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to fight for freedom, and this guy can't even set up a free link on his site to Ron's campaign, or temporarily forward it -- neither of which would cost him so much as a nickel.

I'm staunchly in favor of a free market, but I look at this guy as the founders looked upon fellow citizens who were selling supplies to the redcoats.

This jerk is STILL trying to rip off someone for this domain name and I sincerely hope that he doesn't succeed! Also, check out this part:

Email Forwarding. The Seller currently uses the email address ron@ronpaul.com. Buyer agrees to setup automatic and instant and confidential forwarding of the ron@ronpaul.com email address to an outside email address of Seller’s choosing for a period of 6 months following transfer of the domain name.

What's the use of buying the darned domain name if you can't use the main email box for SIX MONTHS!!??

    I repeat: JERK!

To the posters with the ad hominem attacks, I ask you to consider the following:

    1) Is anyone who doesn't support your candidate a "jerk"?

    2) "Selling to Red Coats?" Are you really saying that any American who doesn't support your candidate is committing treason against the nation? Do the moderators of these forums permit such personal attacks? Do you even believe in representative democracy?

    3) If a newspaper publisher has unsold ad space, is he a jerk for not giving it to the campaign?

    4) Is every web site owner obligated to give a free link to the campaign?

    5) Is every American who doesn't put up a Ron Paul lawn sign a "jerk"?

    6) Does RonPaul2008.com have an obligation to give a free homepage link to every other web site owned by someone named Ron Paul?

    7) Is it really something I said that rubbed you the wrong way? Would it have even been possible for me to make a post here about the auction without getting attacked?

My own political beliefs and those of my client are irrelevant. My client owns something that is valuable both to him and to others, and if others want it, they can pay a fair price, a price determined by free markets.

    8) Isn't it possible that tour personal attacks are hurting your cause, not helping it?

Stop bidding; this is a ridiculous waste of money.

Donating $5000 to the blimp would be much better way to support Ron Paul IMHO.

don't waste your money, RonPaul2008.com is well established and a google search will take you right to it.

  25. #51
IMHO, its a waste of money.

    But....its not my $5100.

  26. #52
well you could create a fake account and keep bidding ridiculously high amounts, making it impossible to be sold.

not saying you should do this though.

this guy wanted around 150,000 at first(http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=37599) then comes here and makes a post trying to get offers for it and was offered up to 10k(http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=72802)

Let me add though going by http://www.dnscoop.com/ It has an estimated value of $14,274

Steve, if you research Ron Paul's positions and what he believes, you will see why the majority of us agree with those statements to some extent. This isn't about one candidate or another, this is about one candidate against the entire establishment.

If you want to keep your head buried in the sand and listen to what the mainstream media has to say, then don't be surprised when in 5 years you are enslaved to the very same people who own those stations.

Now if you want to talk about representative democracy, why don't you go checkout the New Hampshire section of this forum and see how our elections are being stolen in front of our very eyes by computers while the mainstream media stays silent.

    Reserve not met.
Hmmmmmmmm.... I wonder what the reserve price is... considering they were asking for an outrageous amount back in march when the campaign inquired about it.

  33. #58
I am bidding to see how much it is. There is no way i am paying that amount but if his price was reasonable I would start a chip in and buy it. As far as those telling me not to do it and to move the money to the blimp, there is no way I will support the blimp. I have never liked it. Why certain members come up with ideas that have a paid salary while others are moving to states and not taking one, is beyond me as to why everybody supports it. When it comes down to it if we had spent 400,000 a month on targeted mailings, and radio ads in Nevada, then I think it would have gone a much longer way toward making an impact on this race. When it comes down to it, Ron has no credibility until he proves he can win something and a blimp doesnt do that.

ps. If someone would place a bid of 8 grand, I would appreciate it. that is the max I listed and you wont be stuck with the bid, but at least I will know if his reserve is crazy.
