Why socialism doesn't work - a classic example:

This article should speak for itself:

Wow! What they don't mention is how those kids all get free health care to boot.

It's a beutiful day in Michael Moore's utopia.

LOL@ one comment... The guy said that they were 14 Labour Party votes bought and paid for...

This gives perfect reason to why people on the government welfare role shouldn't be allowed to vote; it's creates a distinct conflict of interest.

All collectivism sucks... socialism isn't the only form of collectivism, individualism is what creates freedom.

At this point we're practically all on the welfare system.

I lost a lot of faith in the "workfare" program when I saw how Giuliani used it to slash city budgets. He replaced city workers woth welfare workers who ended up making less than $2 an hour, IIRC. Of course, they were promised that eventually they would be hired into the city positions, but seriously....where is Giuliani's motivation to do that?

What Michael Moore and other universal health care supporters don't seem to realize is that it's not free healthcare - someone somewhere has to pay for it. When they use the word "free" what they really mean is "free to them". It's always easier to stick your hand out and expect someone else to pay for things for you.

The argument in that article that is hard to counter is that if the children were in State care while the parents were in the street that the cost to the State would be substantially more.

ANd of course, (insert violin here) the children are always emotionally better off with their parents.

Progressives aren't stupid. They're mean and greedy, but didn't you hear Biden explain that the solution is to take money away from people who do not need it?

The Progressive Paul-bashers always say that Libertarian Economics are fool-hardy. Coming from the mental giants that built the pyramid scam known as Social Security that remark's hysterical.

    Yup. A double-edged sword.
The father said he turned down a job that paid 300 a week because they'd lose 400 in benefits. The system is broken and needs to be adjusted so that people are encouraged to work.

LOL. I'm sure immigrants in both the UK and the US abuse the system much more than this. How about $1 BILLION in illegals medical bills in one US city alone?

So you see the article is really nothing.
