    An apology...

I just watched the CNN clip. I know "old news", but family comes first...

I've spent the last couple days waiting for Dr. Paul to come forth with a thorough explanation and apology. Now that I've gotten it, I've come to a rather stark realization: I'm the one that should apologize.

So, Dr. Paul, please accept my deepest and sincere apology for ever having questioned your character or lent any dignity to the allegations laid at your feet. Instinctively, I knew it was not in your character. I knew it was not who you are or what your espouse. I knew that it was contrary to everything I've heard you say or words I've read that I know to have been penned by you these past months.

You'll forgive my brief doubts, I'm sure, and understand that I have been brought up in a political system where wolves often come to the podium in sheep's clothing - only to be shown for their true agenda in due course. It has made me cynical and mistrustful of anyone who claims the title "politician", and in this case I reacted purely from muscle memory despite all evidence to the contrary.

Please do accept my apology and continue your fight with my support. I do not want my kids to grow up in an America that is distrustful of their leaders. I do not want my kids to grow up in an America where they have to constantly question the character and motivations of their leaders. I do not want my kids to grow up in an America that allows petty, insignificant and hate-filled people to assassinate the patriots and heroes with baseless and tired cliches. I do not want my kids to grow up in an America that requires allegiance to party over country, ideals over ideas and name-calling over true, open and inclusive debate.

I DO want my kids to grow up in an America that offers them the opportunity to be judged by THEIR character and stand on the principle that "all men are created equal", and more importantly that "all men are TREATED equal".

With that, I say, you have my apology and you have my support. When I get the opportunity to teach my children in full about the heroes of our nation (Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali, and many, many more) - rest assured that your name will have a place on that list.

    God bless.

I am glad that you have at least taken the time to think about all of it, and have come to the conclusion that you have. Good to have you back.
Look at all the angles. Think for yourself.
